Construction Aggregates are simply coarse material such as sand, gravel, crushed stone and slag basically used in construction. These aggregates are mostly mined components such as concrete and asphalt concrete. The main job of these composite is to add strength to the reinforcement. There are many types of aggregates such as granite aggregates, slag aggregates and Road Stone Aggregates manufactured by renowned Road Stone Aggregate Exporters and Suppliers and Slag Aggregate Manufacturers.

Types Of Aggregates

Most Aggregates are used as a composite material that resists stress and provides bulkiness to the material. There are some different types of Aggregates explain below-

  • Granite Aggregates: Granite Aggregates are made of crushed hard rock of granular structure that is commonly found on the Earth’s surface. Granite Aggregates are popularly used as a building material as it is a highly solid material with low flakiness. Granite is regarded as the best Aggregate for high-grade concrete. These Aggregates are also used as a decorative material as they have a variety of color and shades to offer such as grey, pink, beige and yellow.
  • Gravel Aggregates: Such aggregates are also known as Sand Aggregates, which are formed as a result of sifting quarried rock and crushing natural stones. These Aggregates have a lower strength, but have different advantages such as low radioactive background and low prices. Gravel Aggregates are used in concrete foundations and products that are used to manufacture reinforced concrete and road construction materials.
  • Limestone Aggregates: This product is formed after crushing sedimentary rock that is limestone, which is mainly composed of calcium carbonate. Limestone Aggregate is one of the main Aggregate to be used in road construction and reinforcement of concrete objects.
  • Secondary Aggregates: Secondary Aggregates are produced by crushing construction waste such as concrete, bricks, and asphalt. The main advantage of this Aggregate is that it comprises of low power input and comes cheaper than most Aggregates. This Aggregate is used in most construction materials where an extremely solid formation is not required.
  • Road Stone Aggregates: Road Stone Aggregates are mainly produced in quarry location by blasting, crushing and screening. These Aggregates can vary in size and percentage of material distribution to meet the different demands of an engineering environment. Road stone Aggregates are mainly consumed in the manufacturing of roads and pavements where they are either incorporated into the hot asphalt mix, surface dress the pavement or applied to the surface as a pre-coated chipping.

Apart from the above listed Aggregates there are a few light wighted Aggregates such as clay, pumice, perlite and vermiculite that are used in light construction.
