  • I’d love to dress Bruce Jenner’

Amy Childs says that she would love to style Bruce Jenner, after spotting former boxing promoter, Kellie Maloney, in one of her designs.

Last week, Kellie, 62, stepped out on the red carpet for the first time since her gender reassignment operation in March this year – wearing a slim-fitting peach dress from Amy's collection.

The TOWIE star-turned-fashion designer, 24, praised 'beautiful' Kellie and has since discussed how she’d love to dress the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star next.

After finding fame as a reality star on ITV2's The Only Way Is Essex, Amy has been designing her own collection Amy Childs Official for the last few years, and was thrilled when Kellie decided to wear one of her designs.

She explained: ‘I met Kellie last year when my mum Julie and I took a pop-up version of our boutique to Excel for a beauty show.

  • She’d just come out of Big Brother and was really in the spotlight for the first time.

Amy added: 'She must have felt quite vulnerable and scared but she didn’t show it at all.

'She was confident and as far as I was concerned, a dignified woman in every way.’

A former boxing promoter who guided Lennox Lewis to the World Heavyweight title, Kellie Maloney entered the Big Brother House in August 2014, two years after changing her name from Frank.

The 62-year-old went on to have full gender reassignment surgery in March, and made her first red carpet appearance at Lorraine Kelly’s High Street Fashion Awards, last week.

Amy has explained how she believes Kellie is an ambassador for the transgender community, and has showcased 'unbelievable bravery'.

Amy said: ‘When we spoke, she told me that she loved what I had on and I told her that she should try some dresses from my collection.

'She had full make-up on and I loved how confident she was walking around the show.

  • I know that Kellie had come up against prejudices but I felt so glad that she was able to spend time with my mum and me and talk openly. We were thrilled when she said she’d wear a few of my dresses.’

She added: ‘When I saw the photo of her at the Lorraine Kelly fashion awards last week, I was proud and thought she looked beautiful.’

The glamorous fashion designer also lauded 65-year-old Bruce Jenner, who has similarly made public his decision to transition into a woman.

Amy explained: ‘When I started to design dresses, I wanted the women who wore them to feel comfortable with their own identities, so who better to wear a frock and feel like this than Kellie with the amazing bravery she’s shown in changing her life for the better whilst in the public eye.’

  • Likewise, I think Bruce Jenner making her gender transition shows the same unbelievable bravery. I’d definitely love it if she was the next transgender celebrity to wear an Amy Childs dress.’

Tributes and support have poured forth for former Olympic gold medallist, Bruce Jenner, since he revealed his decision.

Former wife, Kris Jenner, and daughters Kendall and Kylie, as well as the Kardashians - Kim, Khloe and Kourtney - have also expressed their support.
