Proof of the first woven cloth was found in a tomb in China by a group of archaeologists. The piece of cloth dated back 2500 years ago and showed characteristics that surprised the finders. The finders discovered a large number of silk and cotton pieces of cloth from more than forty coffins that they had dug up. The largest piece was more than 130 centimeters long and more than 50 centimeters wide. The red color of the cloth had come from a dye made from Vermillion.
