Kate Hudson dazzles in a racy plunging red dress at Glamour Awards

She might be a 36-year-old mother-of-two herself but Kate Hudson proved on Tuesday night that she still sometimes needs a helping hand from her own mum.

The stunning blonde actress attended the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards at Berkeley Square in London in an extremely plunging red dress.

And luckily her mother Goldie Hawn, 69, was on standby to make sure that there were no wardrobe malfunctions for Kate, as she helped her daughter to adjust her daring ensemble on the red carpet.

Kate's scarlet floor-length frock was slashed to the waist and held together no doubt with the magic of double-sided tape.

She wore her blonde hair in a loose topknot, adding a casual touch to her look.

Goldie was chic in a black and white dress with her long blonde hair loose around her shoulders.

She's a dancing queen, young and sweet, looks barely 17! That's Kate Hudson alright, a rocker babe with a boho 70's vibe, wearing this incredible metallic copper pleated gown with plunging neckline by J. Mendel to the Glamour UK Awards.

She shows off her enviable bod by throwing her hair up in a perfectly undone topknot. She keeps the jewelry and clutch super simple to show off the dazzling nature of this dress. Everything about this look is just effortlessly chic.

We could see this dress on a red carpet like tonight or with gladiator flats, being the best maxi dress to rock in Ibiza, with beachy hair and layers of long pendant necklaces and a stack of arm candy.

Sadly, this exact dress is from the Pre-Fall 2015 collection of J. Mendel so it's not available yet. Head over to FarFetch to see his spring collection to the right. Then check out our sparkling selections below. We're sure you're going to be the disco diva in them. With prices starting at under 50 quid, it's worth investing in the hot-child-in-the-city 70's glam trend.

Kate paid tribute to her famous mother as she picked up a gong at this year's Glamour awards.

Hudson, whose mother, actress Goldie Hawn, put in an appearance, said: 'I grew up with an incredibly ambitious mother, but her ambition was for a greater purpose.

'In true Goldie form she was doing it for all women. We are all here together and we need to support each other, we need to create a support system. We are more powerful together.'

Hudson won the Entrepreneur of the Year gong at the Glamour Women of the Year awards, presented by Sir Philip Green. Hudson founded her online clothing company, Fabletics, last year.

She told the audience: 'Thank you to Glamour... I started this company and the core comes from something I'm passionate about... It was one of the most rewarding things I've ever been a part of... I couldn't do that without an incredible team of people. It's fun and I get to express myself.'

As well as attending the Glamour Awards, the mother-daughter duo are in London for some philanthropic work and bonding time.

It appears to be a girls' only trip as there was no sign of Kate's sons.

She has three-year-old Bingham with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, who is now dating 25-year-old Blurred Lines music video star Elle Evans.

The Good People star is also mother to 11-year-old son Ryder from her marriage to Chris Robinson. She separated from the Black Crowes frontman in 2006 after five and a half years of marriage.

On Monday Kate and Goldie joined forces for the Love-In For The Kids' event, the fourth annual Hawn Foundation UK fundraising dinner.

The foundation aims to bring the MindUp programme, which trains teachers and schools to help children develop the emotional and social skills needed to aid their learning through the Buddhist technique of Mindfulness Training, to schools around the world.

It aims to help children increase their concentration, improve their behaviour and deal with stress.

An introduction to the programme on the foundation's website reads: 'Children today are showing signs of distress. School dropout rates are rising. Distractions abound for children, their teachers, and parents.

'A child's ability to learn is directly linked to their overall state of well-being and mental health, of primary concern to The Hawn Foundation and Founder, Goldie Hawn who was the visionary behind MindUP.

'Assembling a team of educators, neuroscientists, positive psychologists and experts in mindful awareness training, the academy award winning actress, producer, author, child advocate and philanthropist created the evidence-based MindUP as a social and emotional literacy curriculum and training program.

'For 10 years, it has grown as the signature initiative of The Hawn Foundation in the US and in 2010 was introduced to schools in the UK.

'Accredited by CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning), MindUP equips children, educators and parents with vital social and emotional literacy skills, helping them increase focus, improve academic performance, reduce stress, gain emotional resilience and optimism.

'Rooted in neuroscience, the programme teaches self-regulatory behavioural control while offering engagement strategies for learning and living.'

Goldie is passionate about the foundation and the programme and has been heavily involved in fundraising and promotion.
