Michelle, 27, got hitched to reality star Mark Wright at Bury St Edmonds in Suffolk, wearing a stunning Galia Lahav french lace fishtail wedding gown studded with Swarovski crystals and topped off with a Peter Langer wedding veil.

Never one to do things by halves, Michelle also had a pair of silver python heels with her new initials MW in diamante on the soles.

Fine jewellery designer Sabine Ghanem and her billionaire heir husband Joseph Getty enjoyed a lavish ceremony at the Santi Apostoli church in Rome.

In keeping with her quirky tastes, the 30-year-old bride wore a white and gold embellished Elsa Schiaparelli gown with a hood and long train that had to be carried by two assistants.

Though 30-year-old glamour model Georgia Salpa kept the details of her wedding to billionaire Joe Penna firmly under wraps, she wore a sweetheart neckline dress that complemented her dark tumbling curls and instead chose to post a photo of herself wearing a coral dress with her new husband on their honeymoon.

So, how do these newly-wed stars fare in the nuptial style stakes compared to other celebrity brides? Let's look at the best of the rest.

Solange Knowles

Singer and younger sister of Beyonce Solange cut a stunning figure in her clean, white silhouette. Her custom Kenzo gown was classy, minimal and had a demure, long cape that covered her arms, which were accentuated with gold cuffs.

Poppy Delevingne

British model Poppy, 29, looked glorious in bespoke Chanel with lace, embroidered flowers and pearls as she wed Mark businessman James Cook last summer. She had a reported 17 bridesmaids, including supermodel sister Cara as the chief bridesmaid, making sure Poppy looked every inch the princess by keeping her tulle veil in place.

Lauren Conrad

The former reality star from The Hills got married in a two-tone ivory gown made of chantilla lace created by Mark Badgley and James Mischka, fitted with a ten foot train for the wedding photoshoot and topped off with crystals, pearls and baby glass beads. One of the stand-outs of this dress was the Victorian elegant button-down back. The star said that she originally wanted a tulle ball gown, but this was definitely a timeless and elegant choice.

Amal Clooney

Human rights barrister Amal wed actor George Clooney in Venice last December, and is fast becoming as known for her sophisticated style as for her outstanding accomplishments as a world-class lawyer. She looked exquisite in a pearl-studded french lace Oscar de la Renta dress with a floor-length veil. At her wedding reception she changed into a Gatsby-esque, knee-length fringed shift dress in a champagne colour with beaded silver pumps from the late designer's then unreleased collection.

Kim Kardashian

Kim wore a Givenchy haute couture gown designed by friend Riccardo Tisci when she got hitched to Kanye West last year at the Forte de Belvedere in Florence. It featured sheer lace panels and hugged her curves, pooling at the hem. The only pitfall was that Kim always looks consistently 'made up', hair perfectly coiffed, so her bridal look was not a dramatic departure from her everyday appearance.

Kate Moss

Supermodel and fashion icon Kate Moss wore a vintage-inspired John Galliano dress on her big day with more than a hint of 1920s glamour. The ivory bodice had a sheer overlay and glittered with gold sequins and intricate beading. Kate also wore a lace cap veil with fabric flowers on either side of her head for a demure look.

Angelina Jolie

Never one to follow the crowd, Angelina made a heartfelt tribute to her children by wearing an Atelier Versace couture dress and veil tailored by family friend Luigi Massi and embroidered with doodles from each of her brood. While rainbow motifs could err on the side of tacky on a wedding gown, it was a bold statement which paid homage to Angelina's rebellious punk roots.

Christina Ricci

Actress Christina Ricci wore a lace Givenchy haute couture number made of white silk tulle with Chantilly lace applique. Eschewing the strapless bodice look favoured by celebrities for years, she instead had elbow length sleeves with exposed shoulders. It was a chic, fashion-forward choice which complemented her vulpine features and slicked back hair perfectly.

Keira Knightley

Quintessential English rose Keira decided to do things a little differently than the others, wearing a pale pink Chanel tulle prom dress, a specially designed Karl Lagerfeld boucle jacket and grey flat ballet pumps for her woodlands ceremony. She was praised for wearing a dress that she has worn previously at red carpet events, but she admitted that she changed into a £50,000 Valentino gown at her 'secret' wedding.

Kate Middleton

The hotly anticipated Royal Wedding meant that all eyes were on Britain's future queen; like Princess Diana did 33 years previously, the Duchess of Cambridge's dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen set the tone for countless brides that wanted a traditional, regal style with some modern touches. The classic lace, the embroidered sleeves, a deep V-neck and a long train evoked memories of the gown worn by Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco in 1956.
