To get better at speed, improve your foot work on both feet. Most people have a lead-off foot that they rely on, and usually preform better with. If you can work on becoming ambidextrous, you will be an invaluable player.

Treat all of your fellow players, even your opposition, with the respect they deserve. Football is a taxing sport on body and mind. Everyone that plays is a warrior in his own right. It shows great courage and teamwork. Keep that in mind, and don't react poorly to misplays and losing. Treat your fellow players the way you'd want to be treated.

Speed is an important attribute for a football player. Regardless of your size or the position you play on the field, you need to practice improving your speed. Working on increasing your speed before you worry about adding weight to your frame. The extra weight may slow you down and being big and slow is not going to help your team.

Increase your speed. A good football player needs to be quick on his feet, not only in sprints, but in reaction time and reflexes too. Try adding in some track exercises into your workout regimen and before you know it you will be leaving your opponents behind in the dust.

Remember the basic positions on an offensive team. There are eight basic of them. They are quarterback, halfback, fullback, wide receiver, tight end, offensive tackle, offensive guard, and center. The quarterback is generally the one player that both runs the offense on the field and leads the team when huddled.

You cannot change your height, but you can work on every other aspect of becoming a better football player. You can get stronger, wider, faster and more skillful with practice. You can change yourself if you're dedicated to practice, exercise, and eating well.

Become a student of the game prior to taking your place on the field. Understand the rules and you will play better. You can learn about football by watching a game on television, picking up a book on the subject or even going and watching your local high school football team play.

With all of this great advice in mind, you should have no problem throwing, catching and tackling like a pro. Turn what you have learned into success by using these tips as often as possible. If you do, you will find that you start winning more games than you lose.
