Vinyasa Yoga is a unique form of yoga and it is derived from Hata Yoga. The beauty of this form of exercises or yogic postures involves synchronizing the breathing with the flow of the postures. Indian yoga is a comprehensive system that modifies the practitioner's mind, and body and turns total attitude of the practitioners positive. It is a fast paced mingled with breathing and the flow is regulated and designed to provide maximum effects to the body. The puraka and rechaka, that is inhaling and exhaling are matched with the movements of the posture and the flow is retained till the end of the practice. As already mentioned it is a comprehensive system of practice, where the students are benefiting from the practice immensely.

It is known that the body has a vital connection and the health of the body is found out by the type of breathing. Breathing is considered as very important and it plays a significant role in the maintenance of better health. The lower breathing rate per minutes involving long breath in or long inhalation and long exhalations indicate that the persons are well versed in yoga and he has got good control over his body and mind and he is not easily perturbed. Everybody has observed that when one become angry or perturbed, or anxious, automatically their breathing pattern changes. Whereas, in a case of a yogi, who has control over his breath can control his emotions and he will not become disturbed easily. This is one of the most significant things one is achieved through the practice of Vinyasa yoga combined with breathing techniques. The breathing techniques are known as Pranayama in Sanskrit, means giving a finer boundary or direction to the breath. Prana means life or vital energy and ayama means direction or boundary, totally the word indicates guiding the prana through proper channel so that with the help of prana or breathing one can achieve the requisite results easily without any external help.

Even though it is evolved from the Patanjali’s Astanga yoga, it has been refined to a greater extend to provide faster and better effects for the persons who practice them regularly combined with the breathing techniques. The eight limbs of the yoga as described by Patanjali includes Pranayama as the fourth limb of the practice and the students are introduced to breathing techniques once they become experts in the Asanas or postures. Whereas, in Power Vinyasa yoga students are made aware about the importance of breathing by combining it with the flow of postures that are designed to achieve a purpose of relieving tension in particular organ or it is designed to bring benefits to particular body parts.

The flow is designed by combining various postures which will be done in succession, one after another along with inhalation and exhalation so that the targeted body parts get more stretch with ease and comfort. Above all, body parts gain flexibility, strength and endurance. This is the ultimate goal of Yoga.
