Williamsburg Winery

This winery is the largest in the state of Virginia and contributes to over a quarter of the state’s produce. The winery started in 1985 and served its first wine in 1988. It was called "Governor's White". It is still the most popular wine that is produced from here. The vineyard owns a massive 320 acres size but the vineyards have been restricted to a small portion with only 50 acres of cultivated land and another 2 acres for the on-site dining facilities.

Barboursville Vineyards

The estate was founded by Gianni Zoning, an Italian winemaker, in 1976. This vineyard was one of the first during the revival of wineries in this area. The winery is known for the Octagon, a Bordeaux-style blend based on Merlot variety of grapes. It was first served in 1991, then in 1995 and consistently after 1998. The white wine varieties that are produced here range from Viognier,Chardonnay,Pinot Gorgio and Sauvignon Blanc.

Kayak Winery-Chatham Vineyards.

This is the country’s only Winery that pairs the adventure of Kayaking with the classical wine tasting experience. Constructed in 2005, the winery has a capacity of up to 5000 cases of wine per year. The $85 price tag will get you a complete bottle of wine for each couple along with Kayaking gear and instructions.
