Eligibility Criteria for Getting Job In Defence Sector

The Indian army is no doubt a respectful and popular profession among young generation. All of the posts of the defence sector are equally respectful. The Indian army has maximum number of employees in the country.
The candidates can enter into the Indian army from any level, like from the 10+2 passed out to the post graduates or professionally qualified or non professionally qualified, all types of of job profiles are there in the Indian Army. Even nowadays women staff also recruited into the army. The work profile for each each post is different like soldiers, engineers, technicians, doctors, logistics, etc posts have their respective work profiles. Various job options according to the qualification is as follows:
1. For 10+2 Students
After 12th with PCM group, the male candidates can appear in NDA (National Defence Academy). All of the selected candidates are trained by the academy and after completion of the course the trainees are appointed as the Army officer. Though the NDA exam, conducted by UPSC is a national level exam.
The NDA exam is conducted in 4 steps, namely Written exam, Interview or Personality test, Document Verification and Medical Exam. The written exam has two papers one is of general ability and the other is of Mathematics and the total weight age of both the papers is 900 Marks, while the Interview (SSB) is also of 900 marks.
2. For the graduate students
The graduate students can also enter into the Indian Army, and for this they have to clear the CDS entrance exam. Through this exam, they can become direct officer in the army. The candidates, selected in the CDS exam are also trained in the Indian Military Academy, and after completion of the training, they are appointed as an officer. The training center is in Dehradun for such candidates.
Even the engineering students can also join the Indian Army, after selecting in the CDS exam. Even the pre-final or final year students can appear in this exam. This Technical graduate scheme is only for those candidates, who have completed their degree course. Such students only have to appear in the SSB exam.
3. For Women Candidates
The women candidates can also join the Indian army but they can join only at graduate, post graduate or engineering levels. The selection procedure for women candidates is also same as for the male candidates. The women candidates also have to clear the CDS exam for joining the Indian Army. They are provided training in Chennai academy.
Apart from this the class III and class IV jobs are also available in the Indian army. Though these employees are not permanent and they work on the daily wages, but still many people choose these jobs as well.
So, any of the three wings of the Indian army can be joined at the appropriate level.
