Ways to Improve Your Customer Service
Posted: Jul 03, 2015
Making a good impression to your customers and potential clients should be a top of the list for every company, especially when customer service is quite often the first port of call as a way of getting in touch. Depending on how you run your customer service department, it can frequently mean the difference between a successful company and a failed one, especially in today’s competitive market place.
One of your business goals should be caring about what your customers think so providing an excellent customer care service should be a priority for building up a strong relationship between you and the customer. Having a good working customer service team is an essential part of providing a first class service as these are the people who are in direct contact with your customers. Are they knowledgeable about your product or service? Do they have the right communication skills to interact with irate customers? If not, maybe it’s time to offer additional training to get your teams up to scratch.
One of the ways to improve your customer care is to keep track of all feedback and comments from clients. This can take form by sending out surveys to find out what your customers think about your services. Are their problems being solved? Are there better procedures of dealing with their queries? A happy customer is much more likely to return and also to tell others about their positive experiences so ensuring that their problems are being dealt with, and solved, is one step in the right direction.
You should also be active in receiving regular feedback from your customer care employees as they’re the ones who are communicating with clients. Getting them involved in sharing their experiences and having a say in how they deal with situations is a helpful way of how the whole team can learn. All feedback, from both customers and staff, should be assessed and followed up for revised strategies to how comments are dealt with.
Looking at the different ways in which customers can get in contact with your company should be evaluated. Can customers get in touch with you through different routes, and at different times? There’s usually a delay in replies to emails so could you speed this up in some way? Ensure that you regularly update your social media status' and be quick to reply to customer's comments. Think about adapting new strategies such as live chat and getting professional live chat operators, in order to offer your customers more choice in how they communicate with your company. This is particularly important if you have an online business as this option would be the next best thing to meeting customers face to face and showing them that you care about what they have to say.
