As Silver is a fragile metal that can easily develop tarnish, stains and scratches this metal needs to be cleaned frequently in order to maintain its shine. • Baking Soda To Clean Silver: This is the easiest trick to clean your Silver items at home. Take a bowl and place an aluminium or tin foil in it. Add 2 tablespoons of baking powder and place the jewelry in it make sure you cover the jewelry with baking soda before adding boiling water to the baking soda. Wait patiently for at least 15 minutes or till the bubbles disappear and till the water cools down, take out the jewelry and be amazed.
• Hot Salt Bath: Pour two cups of hot water into a bowl or enough to cover the piece of silver item. Add salt to the water and place the silver item in this hot bath. This Salt solution will slowly start to remove tarnish and dirt particles from the Silver Item.
• The Toothpaste Trick: Yes, that is correct. Toothpastes, which have a high content of hydrated silica, are the most efficient cleaners of silverware. Pour a dab of toothpaste on the Silverware and scrub it with a toothbrush, rinse this item in normal water and you can see the changes from first wash. Repeat the step if necessary.
• Polishing Tarnished Silver: The best way to polish your Silver at home is quite simple. Add 2 tablespoon of baking soda in half a cup of vinegar, use this solution as a polish for your Silverware or Jewelry. Dip some solution in a soft cloth to use this mixture as a polish to your items.

Other branded polishes such as Windex and Nair can be easily available in grocery stores or jewelry stores around you that give the Silver Item a simple polish leaving the piece free of dirt, tarnishes and reduced shine. Also, keep your Silverware away from hot and humid places as that can result to quicker tarnish of the Silver Metal.
