Applications of the nanorod

There are wide uses of these rods, few are mentioned below.

The zinc nanorods or nanowires can be used for humidity sensitivity. The films help in detecting high humidity, long term stability as well as the speedy time. The resistance of these rods will fall with rise in the relative humidity. The resistance alters at room temperature when the nanorods are exposed to air.

They are even used for display technologies. With the orientation change related with electric fields, reflectivity can be changed, thereby leading to superior quality displays. Even there can be improvement in picture quality with these rods. The colour will look brighter and the picture will look cleared with these rods.

They are used in dye solar cells as well. This dye is developed from oxidation and reduction techniques. However, the usual requirements for it are semi conducting nature and porous.

The particles or rods are even used with the biomolecules like nucleic acids or antibodies. They even help to detect some serious health diseases.
