One of the biggest religious festivals in the world called ‘Janmashtami’ is a festival of Hinduism. Gokulashtami or Krishna Janmashtami 2015 is a yearly celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Millions of people around the world are celebrating this holy festival on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Sharavan (August–September) in the Hindu calendar.

Mathura, also known as ‘Brij Bhumi’, the land where Lord Krishna was born. It’s a city situated in the western part of the Uttar Pradesh State and on the bank of the river Yamuna. People believe that over five hundred years ago, in dhwapar yuga, Lord Krishna made his devine appearaance at midnight to Devaki and Vasudeva in the jail cell of His Mama kansa. Then childhood of the Lord Krishna was passed in Gokul, and with Palanharta Ma Yashoda. He also played Raasleela with Radha and other Gopi in Vrindavan. At most of the Iskon Temples around the world, celebrates Krishna Janmashtami Date 2015 on the exact moment of the anniversary of Lord Krishna’s appearance. This event includes kirtan, Dahi handi program, Jaap, perform drama, dance etc… The people, includes kids, youngers and elders doing fast all the day and eat Prasad (Bhog) especially Makkhan misri, Panjari after birth time and Darshan of Lord Krishna in the jhula at midnight. In the temple, pujari makes an abhishek and aarti ceremany of the Lord. On the day of Janmashtami Date 2015, Boys and youngsters form a human pyramid as high as they can, to break earthan pot (Matuki) filled with makkhan misri (Mixture of Butter and sugar). Crowd around the ‘Matuki Phode’ program cheers the Boys with a loud voice "Nand Gher Anand Bhayo, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki". In the maya nagri of India ‘Mumbai’, Bollywood celebs are also participating in this Dahi Handi’ Program.

Commonly, in saurastra region of Gujarat, People celebrate the festival of five days, together with Randhan Chatth, Sitla Satam, Janmastami, Nom and Dasam. On the other places of Gujarat and India, It’s a One day Festival Janmashtami 2015 in India, which will be on 7th September 2015. Randhan Chhath, a unique ritual is celebrated on the previous day of Sitala Satam, Woman cook or preparing foods for the next day. As No food is cooked on the Sitala Satam day, people eat the same food prepared on the randhan chhath. Famous foods are made on the day, are farsi puri, gol papdi, thepla shak,different chewdo, mithi puri, dhebra, gathiya etc… Sitala Satam festival is celebrated on the seventh day of the dark fortnight, where woman, especially mothers performed sitalamata’s puja, read vrat katha and eaten a cold meal made on Randhan Chhath. This day Dedicated to Goddes Shitla. Mothers believe that with the blessings of Shitalama, children will be protected from diseases and live healthy life.

The next day is Janmashtami 2015 in India, a birthday of Lord Krishna. Not only Vaishnavs (Followers of Lord Krishna) but believers of the other Hindu region is also enjoyed and celebrated the festival. In the Gujarat, a devbhoomi Dhwarka is a place of ancient Kingdom of Lord Krishna. It’s a foremost chardham place also.
