Your office is a reflection of your business. Choosing appropriate furniture increases brand engagement and brand loyalty. It also shows your commitment to your organization and your values to both employees and clients.

It is not always possible for startups or even extremely profitable organizations to provide luxurious sets of furniture to each and every employee, however investing a little extra on your conference room furniture is recommended.

The most popular materials used for conference tables are wood and glass. Some people are loyal to teak or mahogany wood furniture while some prefer German glass to make a statement. There are various parameters that one can consider before making a sound choice between the two. These are discussed below.

Price

Wood and glass are both expensive when compared to metal and plastic executive office furniture suites. Though they can be a little heavy on your budget, they are a good long term investment. Glass is available in various qualities and price ranges. Wood is however, expensive irrespective of its class.

Use a heavy glass table top as part of your conference table to make an affluent statement to your clients.

Maintenance

Even though we are constantly either reminded or are reminding other people to use coasters at home, in an office it is not possible to do so. Maintaining conference room furniture that is made of glass is comparatively easier than wood. Wood requires more effort to clean, making it cumbersome to maintain, however wood looks more sophisticated than glass making it a difficult choice.

Durability

Even though glass is brittle, if used properly and carefully it will last a long time. On the other hand wooden conference tables will easily last for twenty years if you get the polishing redone every five to seven years.

Glass accumulates dust and loses its shine. It requires to be replaced every four to six years especially if used regularly as part of your executive office furniture suites.

Weight

Wood is much heavier when compared to glass. Therefore if your conference room does not receive a lot of natural light or is small, it is advisable to use glass instead of wood. Owing to its density wood absorbs light and makes a place look smaller and works best in large open spaces.

Glass conference room furniture sets, however, can be used to give the illusion of a bigger space. Using reflective glass also works in places that are cramped.

However, after assessing the pros and cons of both glass and wood, bear in mind that an office cannot be of just one of there. It is best to use a combination of both to for décor that is simple, classic and practical.
