LeCraw - Brock Wedding

Emily Dianne Brock and Christopher Benjamin LeCraw Jr. were married at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, in Morris Chapel at Darlington School.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Bennett Brock Sr. of Rome. She is the granddaughter of the Honorable Robert Gordon Walther, the late Mary Agnes Kennedy Walther and the late Dr. and Mrs. Roy Crawford Brock.

The groom is the son of Lieutenant Colonel and Mrs. Christopher Benjamin LeCraw Sr. of Mableton. He is the grandson of Charles Veazey LeCraw Sr. of Smyrna and the late Sherla Miller LeCraw; Mr. and Mr. Walter Matthew Ptaskiewicz of Dallas and the late Jean Kempf Ptaskiewicz.

The Reverend Walter Humphrey Henegar performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar adorned with arrangements of peach Juliet and Tiffany roses, pink majolica tea roses, cream stock, miniature gerbera, astilbe, brunia berries, and dusty miller. Pews were marked with bouquets of antique green hydrangea, roses and cascading foliage.

Pianist Steven Wooddell and The Seven Hills String Quartet provided a program of wedding music. Selections included "Butterfly Waltz," "Unaccompanied Cello Suite 1," "Forrest," "Come Thou Fount," and "Gloria in D Major." The bride’s brother, Paul Bennett Brock Jr. sang "Before the Throne."

Natalie Brock Babington of Rome, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Win McCarthy Brock of Atlanta, sister-in-law of the bride; Arrington Mooney Collie of Birmingham, Alabama; Leah Ilene Dvorkin of Vail, Colorado; D’Ann Nicole Davis, Rachel Lauren Forrest, Alina Janette Sage, and Rebekah Marie Nicewander all of Dallas, Texas; Leesa Marie Koestler Harris and Lisa Gordon Weiss of Atlanta; Sara Elizabeth Mullinax of Houston, Texas; Alexandria Wysocki Samaddar of Charleston, South Carolina and Lauren Voshell Startup of Cumming. The attendants wore formal, floor-length gowns of dove-colored crinkled silk chiffon with necklines of their choosing. They carried bouquets of pink roses, cream stock, miniature gerbera, astilbe, brunia berries and dusty miller.

Lailie Quinn LeCraw, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a formal soft fluted gown of handmade ivory French Alencon lace over a light gold satin taffeta lining, with an off the shoulder V-neckline and sheer back, covered buttons extending the length of the cathedral train. She wore her sister’s cathedral-length veil, which featured Chantilly lace along the edge of the blusher and hem. She also wore her mother’s diamond cross necklace, her paternal grandmother’s bracelet, and in her shoe the sixpence carried by the bride’s mother, sister, sister-in-law, two aunts and four cousins.

The bride carried a French bouquet of succulents, peach Juliet and Tiffany roses, cream stock, peach and pink ranunculus with miniature gerbera, astilbe, and dusty miller. She carried an heirloom embroidered lace handkerchief, which belonged to her maternal grandmother.

Matthew Charles LeCraw of Papillion, Nebraska and James Robert LeCraw of Augusta were their brother’s best men. Groomsmen were Caleb Moffitt Babington, brother-in-law of the bride, of Rome; Thomas Rhett Bentley of Santa Monica, California; Paul Bennett Brock Jr., brother of the bride, David Edward Lantz, Branch Patrick Lawson Jr., Douglas Wales McRae Jr., Carter Brooks Nicholson, Harrison Andrew Powell, Fredrick James Ross IV, all of Atlanta; Connor Lawson McCarthy of San Francisco, California; Adam Williamson McClure of Denver, Colorado; Daniel Woodruff Parker of Columbus and Austin Lee Williams of Washington, DC.

The mother of the bride chose a formal column gown of French embroidered tulle. The blue stone hue of the gown was accented by candlelight bridal satin lining. The custom boat neck motif of the bodice featured a band of matching Brussels lace. The mother of the groom wore a two-piece ensemble featuring a tea-length black chiffon skirt with a black and white floral print blouse with bell sleeves and a peplum waist. The mothers were presented with a small clutch of flowers and the grandmother was presented with a wrist corsage all complimenting the bride’s bouquet.

Following the ceremony, a reception with dinner and dancing was held at the Coosa Country Club. Refreshments included the bride’s five-tiered cake. Each tier featured a different flavor, including chocolate cake with coffee buttercream filling, carrot cake with cream cheese filling, and traditional white cake with chocolate mousse filling. The outside of the cake was iced in cream cheese frosting and featured a cascade of flowers along the side.

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Harvest Moon Cafe.

Other prenuptial parties included an engagement dinner at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Rick Swiger hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berry, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Byars, Dr. and Mrs. Dwayne Collier, Dr. and Mrs. Ken Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hjort, Dr. and Mrs. John Kirkland, Dr. and Mrs. Mac McKemie, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Richards, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Smith, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Stegall, Mr. and Mrs. Lanny Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Whitley. The Women at Westminster Presbyterian Church hosted a miscellaneous shower. A "Stock the Bar and Feather the Nest" shower was hosted in Atlanta by Natalie and Caleb Babington, Mary Win and Bennett Brock, Addie Jones, Virginia and David Lantz, McKenzie and Patrick Lawson, Melinda Mahony, Laura and Douglas McRae, Mary and Carter Nicholson, Anne and Daniel Parker, Sarah and Harrison Powell, and Brittany and Kirk Stafford. The bride’s aunts hosted a luncheon for the bridesmaids and friends. On the morning of the wedding, Carol Rutledge and Karen Tucker provided refreshments for the bride and bridesmaids at the bride’s parent’s home.

After their honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Atlanta.
