Executive, marketing professionals and students prefer Powerpoint presentations designs over all other forms of presentations. There are many reasons behind this kind of preference. One of them is that it takes very little time to create a presentation with PowerPoint slide templates and designs. The second reason is that visuals can be easily incorporated to make the presentation very effective and easily send the message across to the audience. There are many small tips which you can used to ensure that your presentation is different and more efficient than that of the others.

One of them is to ensure that the slides are used in a very subtle manner that they act like a visual aid and not a major distraction. So incorporation of the PowerPoint slide templates should be done with care to make the whole presentation seem seamless and flowing. Creating an effective PowerPoint Presentation is a skill which can be easily acquired and honed over time and a little practice. You can make the presentation more interesting and attractive by using widgets with callout, arrows and pointers. Keep the line very short and exactly to the point. Do not repeat your points and dwell on the same points constantly. Use pictures and photos instead but in an appropriate manner.

Use readymade presentation templates or create your own to suit the topic of your presentation. You can also screen shots instead of or in addition to the pictures. Screen shots are useful if you are telling the audience how your product works. You can also embed a video showing exactly how to use the product you are promoting correctly and effectively. To make your point clear to your audience always use bullet points. All numerical data is grasped better by the audience if it is in the form of charts in any form – either pie charts or column charts. If you have too many columns then try to use different colors for every column, so that the columns are clearly visible. When giving your presentation try to keep it light by adding some human element into it, but do not go off on a tangent; stick to the topic being discussed.

There are certain factors an effective PowerPoint presentation should never have. The slide transition should be seamless and flowing. Do not go overboard on the size of the fonts, colors, background sound or make the whole presentation very flashy with loud videos etc. Keep it simple, relevant and classy. All graphic, animations and photographs used should be relevant to the whole presentation and should be kept to a minimum. They should be incorporated to help the audience understand your presentation better and not be a distraction or a matter of annoyance. As the speaker you should know your topic well and also know the exact layout of your presentation. You should not only be confident but also appear to be so. It of course goes without saying that you should be appropriately attired for the occasion. It is also important that you do not get flustered or annoyed when the computer or the screen shuts down or if there is a technical glitch. Remain calm and composed; the organizers will take care of the issue.
