My Congressman NY Campaigns In Full Swing In New York 13th District

Author: Mike Gallagher

The US Congress elections are due in November 2016 and people of the nation are gearing to make the authentic choice of the candidates who could take forward the process of socio economic development. In the past few months, candidates are coming up with their bids and engaging in open forums and public debates to establish their position among the electors who would be making the democratic judgment.

The issues in this election range from the local problems of people to the opinions of national and international importance. In metropolitan districts like NY 13 and others, there is brisk brewing of the issues and factors for the upcoming elections. My Congressman NY campaigns by the candidates like Mike Walrond, Suzan Johnson Cook, Adam Clayton Powell and others are going in full swing here. They are trying to clear their stand on the topics of relevance and thus improve their chances of winning. Here in this Congressional district, contest is keener because incumbent and democrat heavyweight Charles Rangel is not seeking re election. He has served as Congressman since 1970 and without losing the popular confidence ever. More of the democrats are in the fray therefore in NY 13th district. They all want to emerge as the worthy successor of Charles Rangel!

US Primaries – offering better selection of candidates

My Congressman NY forums would be leading to the US Primaries that are planned in June 2016. The US primaries are fine democratic traditions that allow for thorough testing of the candidates within the political party itself. In the NY 13th Congressional district for example, we have host of democrats lined up to become the successor of C Rangel! However, they would have to pass the test of the primaries when their competencies and suitability as the democrat candidate will be judged. Mike Walrond, Suzan Johnson Cook, MAdam Clayton Powell, Mike Gallagher and many more are in the fray this time in the open competitive field that is left behind by the long time incumbent Rangel.

When race is such stiff, the primaries serve to make the distinction because open forum debates are arranged between the candidates. The system of primaries also thus signifies the evolution of the US democracy over a long period! Other newer democracies like India still lack such mechanisms & people are less aware of the real authentic issues. The politics often gets misleading for the general electorate in such nations. In US there is an evident maturity and the people are well guided to test their candidates in a comprehensive manner.

NY 13th Congressional district electorate more mature!

While some nations could be boasting of superior democratic cultures in house, it is significant to note that every democracy is destined to move forward and touch the new milestones. It is only the timeline that determines democratic maturity! My Congressman NY debates are rigorous and comprehensive and an evolved electorate is getting ready for its vote in November. Candidates like Mike Walrond, Adam Clayton Powell and Suzan Johnson Cook have to be really explanative in their appeal to convince the people in their constituency.
