Takes very little equipment if you just want to test the Podcast waters

Recently I have noticed a surge in the number of E-mails I Receive asking about how to start a Podcast, particularly one pertaining to World of Warcraft. In a way the question can be answered very quickly. If you want to do, then do it. It takes very little equipment if you just want to test the Podcast waters. In fact, you most likely have all the equipment necessary for a Podcast as part of your World of Warcraft gaming peripheral setup.

If you play World of Warcraft Wow XP Off PvP Stream more than couple hours a week chances are you play with other people. If you play with other people you most likely talk them. And if that is the case you have some sort of voice communication hardware (headset or microphone/headphone combo for example) and access to free software. While other options exist you will find it tough to beat the quality and cost of Skype and by cost I mean free. A Google search for free audio recording program will populate with a myriad of results. I find a lot of them to work or not work on a person to person basis so find one that produces a quality recording for you. Once you have the recording software you are ready to create for your first Podcast for a grand total of Zero Dollars.

The real challenge of Podcasting on a regular basis has to do with content. You do not want to reiterate the same argument, thoughts, or opinions every week. You need fresh ideas, concepts, and original thoughts. Otherwise why should anyone spend time out of their life to give you a listen? World of Warcraft is an incredibly vast virtual space. Find what part of that space you enjoy and are passionate about. That will help fuel the Podcast at first as you start to become more comfortable and figure out just what your Podcast is.

Once you have a topic or a few talking points nailed down then you can jump in that Skype call, hit the record button, and let the magic happen. Don't get frustrated if the first few do not come out perfect. There is a certain groove or rhythm to Podcasting that is unique to each person and to each group of people. Not to mention you may have some strange jitters the first few times. While not directly speaking to the whole world, you may find a weird sting in the back of your head. That is your nerves letting you know that this will exist in perpetuity for the whole world to consume.

Don't let yourself be intimidated. All it takes is a headset, a recorder, and drive. If you want a Podcast, whether it is about World of Warcraft of Knitting the only one holding you back, is you.
