Many customers who are new to these two materials are sometimes difficult to distinguish from the appearance, because they are too similar, especially the natural pvc sheet and the pet sheet are almost indistinguishable, which is easy to confuse. Based on my 10 years of experience, I will give you some tips to quickly distinguish between the two:

1. Surface discrimination method: first look at the section or cross section, the multi-position pvc sheet with blue light, because the pvc formula adds ultramarine, dispersed violet, phosphor and other colorants, most of the pet sheet without blue light, and then look at it. On the surface of the sheet, the PVC sheet is mostly calendered, and the surface of the sheet is mostly water-like flow lines, but these two methods of visual judgment have limitations, because the PVC and sheet can be made of color, and the section color is close to pet. PVC can also be produced by the extrusion process, and the surface can be made without water marks, and all can not be successfully identified 100%, so the following identification methods are required.

Second, the method of distinguishing white folding: cut a small piece of each of the two materials and fold them in half. Because of the dual constraints of the molecular composition of the pvc sheet material and the calendering production process, most of the pvc sheets have white folds. All the white marks on the fold are Usually it is PVC sheet, the white mark is not obvious or basically looks good is pet. But this method sometimes fails, because the change in the pvc production formula can make the crease no longer obvious. It is better to use the Japanese imported 513 than Wanda’s m61, and the whiteness will be obviously faded, so I need other judgment methods. More accurate judgments.

3. Combustion method: Upgrade and distinguish on the basis of the first method, starting from the state of combustion. Cut a piece of material and ignite it with a lighter. It will burn with black smoke. Once the lighter is extinguished, it will be extinguished. The black crystal on the burning edge is the PVC sheet, because the PVC sheet is a polychloride molecule, which is flame-retardant. After extinguishing, the pet sheet burns under the flame, with very little smoke and light, and it continues to burn after the fire source is removed. The burning edge is relatively smooth and colored and has less crystals. It can be judged that this is a pet sheet, and the pet sheet is polyester. Lipids are easily degradable and naturally flammable.
