How to setup the outlook account on the android phone?

Before I go ahead and share the account setup instructions, you must need to make sure that you know the outlook email password.

in case, if you can’t remember it, you need to reset the password. After that setup your outlook account by using the following guide.

Method 1 – add the outlook Account using the auto setup-
  • First of all, you need to settings on the android phone.
  • Now go to the Users & Accounts/ Accounts & passwords (It can be different according to the mobile brand).
  • Now swipe up and click on the Add Account button.
  • Select the outlook option from the Menu.
  • Enter the outlook email address and click on the Next button.
  • Now enter the outlook password and click on the sign in button.

Finally, the outlook account will be added into the android phone. you may now open the mail application to check the emails.

Method 2- Setup the outlook account manually-

In case, if you can’t add the outlook account using the auto settings, or outlook is not receiving emails on the android phone.

you should add the account manually on the android phone using the imap servers. do not use the pop3 servers for the outlook account, because it can’t sync to the mail servers.

  • Open the outlook application on your phone or computer.
  • Go to the Users & accounts or Accounts & password.
  • Click on the Add Account button.
  • Press the Other accounts option.
  • Here, you need to Enter the Outlook Email Address.
  • Click on the Next option.
  • Enter the outlook password and click on the ok button.
  • Enter the incoming address- imap.outlook.com and port number – 993.
  • Use the SSL encryption as Yes.
  • Now enter the outgoing address- smtp.outlook.com and port number – 465.
  • Select the encryption type as SSL.
  • Press The Save or Done button.

Finally, your outlook account will be added into the android phone. In case, if outlook does not work on the mail application. you need to check the account settings. Also, you need to open the play store and update the mail application or you can use the outlook official application to access the webmail.
