When the recession hit the nation, almost all sectors were affected by it. But the real estate sector was affected severely and the home prices started dropping and most properties were left unsold. The sellers were having a hard time selling homes as there were hardly any buyer left. But in the post recession phase the situation has finally begun to improve and now the real estate market is going through a good phase. The demand for properties is on the rise and the market is once again crowded with potential buyers. Austin happens to be drawing a large number of crowds now and Westlake which is in West Austin is steadily growing as a popular real estate destination.

If you go through recent surveys and reports, you would find that plenty of people now search Westlake homes. Each year a good number of homes is getting sold and the demand for homes is quite strong and is growing steadily with time. The area has many amenities to offer to the prospective homeowners. The area is almost developed and there are good educational facilities available. In fact, the place is secure and well connected to other areas, to improve the quality of transportation, road expansion projects are also being launched.

The area is financially stable as it is home to many businesses and good work opportunities are available here. Compared to many other places it enjoys a steady economic growth. The Eanes school district, is worth mentioning as it has recently been voted as the second top school district in the nation. The quality of education, student performance and the quality of teaching are quite high here. So parents who expect to settle down here will not have to worry about the availability of good educational facilities.

However, despite there being so much demand the real estate inventory does not have enough supply. The area needs to have more housing projects and many old properties which are not being used should be redeveloped. This way the growing demand for housing could be handled and the real estate market here would flourish.
