How often do we wish for a friend or family member to just understand your state of mind or words and the undertone? The struggle to communicate and understand in this digital world is real. Although the connectivity is optimized there is a vast difference between what we communicate and what we want to communicate. Beneath the layers of language and its tactics there is a self who wishes to be identified, beyond the norms of the society and culture that form a drape around the actual self.

Posting pictures and albums online or recording videos of special moments, writing on others and one’s relationship has been a product of digitalized communication. With smart phones and tablets we try to record our moments and stay connected with friends most of the times. But this moment from personal to social has caused a lot of complications. While we connect online there are seldom any people on the entire friend list that we think actually understands us. In a world full of friends and colleagues, the individual is alone, there is seldom time to stop and retrospect on the idea of communicating efficiently. A big organization tries to communicate to each of its employee via mail, bulk conferences and meetings; the formal sense has been highly developed to a point where the supervisor and employee relationship is hollowed.

The communication media is highly developed with multiple news channels in multiple languages, multiple newspapers, yet each individual faces a challenge to correctly quote their emotion into language and expressions. There is a missing link between language and expression and the thought process which guides us. Social networking is defined and redefined with each new website chatting, video calling and so many other ways to share and communicate. There are websites that offermp3 free music and there are best stock photo sites for image download and more. Yet all these websites provide no respite to the individual from boredom and loneliness. Instead these websites become a comparative stage where they start calculating their own position in the society and how many friends they have. The social networking has become a second stage of conduct where they act in a different manner, try gaining more popularity by following trends among other things. It makes us wonder, how things have turned upside down from painting on caves which had a clear meaning to big books with no clear message. The world has optimized communication system but lost inside clarity.
