Every room needs something special in order to look and feel cozy. That something is called a carpet. When combined with the right furniture and wallpapers, the carpet can really give a room an atmosphere of its own.

Depending on how much time we spend in a particular room, our carpet is always endangered either of being worn out or getting a stain. Wearing out is not a major problem since it happens way too slowly. Some people even change their carpets just so the room could be in tone with some new furniture they have bought and not necessarily because their carpets have worn out. Stains, however, are another story.

This article will share with you information, verified by professional carpet cleaners in London, on how to clean food stains with everyday household items.

So let us imagine you are eating a nice juicy pizza while watching your favorite sitcom in your living room. You reach for the ketchup and add some more of it on your pizza. Unfortunately while watching, deeply concentrated trying to figure out what's going to happen next to the main character, you accidentally pour some ketchup on your carpet.

The first option is to clean with vinegar. You can either use it by itself or you can make a mixture of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. It works fine both ways. Just pour or spray some of it on the stain and with a clean piece of cloth start scrubbing. You might have to repeat that process a couple of times until the stain is gone. Nevertheless, vinegar alway manages to remove stains, even stains which have been on your carpet for a while. However it is important to treat the stain before it sets in too much, so always try to remember that.

If you don't have vinegar you can try rubbing alcohol. Put some of it a clean piece of cloth and again scrub the stain away until it is no more.

The third option requires a little more free time and a couple more ingredients. The ingredients are water, dish soap (make sure it doesn't have bleach or lanolin in it) and ammonia. Preparing the mixture is really easy, just fill a small bowl with water, add a few drops of the dishwasher and a little bit of ammonia. Damp a rag with the mixture and scrub that carpet clean.

If neither of these options seems legit enough for you, you can just hire professional help from a carpet cleaning company. Whatever you chose to do, always keep in mind- the sooner, the better.
