In the ever changing world of legal profession, studying at a reputed law college and passing an examination alone is not thought to be sufficient. So many times, the practicing lawyers need to have specialty areas while representing their clients in criminal and civil courts. Legal specialization has a positive and direct impact upon the competency of advocates. The specialist attorneys always demonstrate a high level of professional proficiency in their practice area. Thus, they stay on the leading edge of the profession, and better their quality of legal solutions to the public.

The law graduates' field of practice and career stream is often determined by the first ever job which they undertake. What happens then is either they are contented with the practice area they are offering their service in, or they simply dislike it. While they are in a law education-imparting college, most of the institutions are mainly focused on performing well and exhibiting their accomplishments to get the best possible placements through campus. During that period, the only issue that the students have is to find out the best fit in the law industry.

As a formal legal enlightenment on law is mandatory before the students get entry into practice, the Bar Council of India has prescribed some compulsory subjects for the law aspirant that will help create the foundation of their legal knowledge while enabling them to enhance the skills required to become successful advocates and to make a highly positive contribution to the civil society.

While pursuing a law study program in Top 10 law colleges in Chhattisgarh or in any other state in India, all the aspirants are introduced to a large number of elective subjects offered in the curriculum so that they can get well acquainted with diversified areas of law. The electives vary to a large extent as per the actual course in which a particular student has enrolled either in Bachelor of Laws or in an Integrated Bachelor Degree. The specialization area or areas which interest them will help in exploring new avenues and highly significant developments in this field and the legal system.

Some of the most popular areas of specializations are:

  • Commercial Laws or the Business Laws mainly deal with the rights and behaviour of businesses and those individuals who are engaged in commerce, trade, merchandising, and sales.
  • Civil Laws mainly deals with concerns of private rights of people, such as handling the damage suits, breaches of contracts, diversified drawing deeds, mortgages and wills.
  • Criminal Laws deal with offences against civil society or the state; include the preparation for a case for defence, conducting trials, correlating findings, examining and cross-examining.
  • Environmental Laws focus on the enactment of new treaties, new regulations, and common and customized laws for the protection of the natural-made environment from the after-effects of human activities.

Some institutions are highly popular for law courses in Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh. The students who want to make their career in different areas of contemporary law can seek admission in them.
