  2. The front ring or bollard should be attached towards the front of your boat, while the back ring or bollard should be attached towards backside of your boat. This will help you tie the boat and keep it protected.
  3. At the time of mooring make sure that angle of rope between bank and boat is kept at 45 degrees.
  4. If in case no mooring rings or bollards are used, it is recommended to use mooring stakes to tie the boat. These stakes are supplied at the time of hiring of boat.
  5. Before you hammer the mooring stakes, ensure that the ground is firm to hold on to your boat. Also make sure that no cables and pipes are visible at the place.
  6. While you are hammering the place for placing mooring stake make sure that you mark this place. This shall prevent the pedestrians or passer-byes from stripping over the stakes.
  7. Avoid spanning a towpath against the rope. This can cause great problems for the pedestrians and make it difficult for them to roam around the place.
  8. If in case you are tying the boat in a tidal river it is essential that you never ever tie the rope tight. This shall not give the boat enough space to move around the place.
