Scuba diving can be a great fun,but it is not something which can be learned in a short interval of time. You need to firstly go through proper training and your training process will start with a brief introduction to how the training will be structured and you will be shown a bunch of DVDs telling about all the skills you will be learning during the course. Instructors make sure that the students become comfortable, confident and can enjoy the diving experience.

  • All aspects of the training are discussed thoroughly from how to wear the kit, safety drills and a few do’s and don’ts.Most people enjoy the challenge of practicing their scuba diving skills while others make a career out of it either way it can be loads of fun.
  • Pool Training: After classroom training next step is the pool training. You will be taken in a swimming pool where you will be given for the first time a gear that you will be diving in and will learn how use it. But first you need to give a swimming test before can start to kit up. It is not complicated and you just have to show that you can swim in the water for a prescribed distance and then float for a given amount of time. It does not matter how long you take to swim.

Once this step is complete you can assemble your diving equipment, taking the help of your instructor. There is an order to put everything together and you will need to learn this, after which you can enter the water wearing your mask and snorkel and can start doing some basic exercise.

  • It is very important that you can clear water out of your mask whilst still underwater and you will have to learn and master this technique. Once the instructor is satisfied, you will then remove your mask. There are a few exercises you need to perform with full scuba gear such as taking your first breath underwater and buddy breathing.
  • Open Water training: Finally you are all set and ready to take your scuba gear into the water. You will begin with practicing some of those exercises again and so on. Then your instructor will take you on your first dive followed by logging it and then use the table to calculate your nitrogen saturation. The water is quite shallow and after a suitable break you will return to the water for further dives and each one taking you deeper until your final dive which you should reach approximately 18 meters.
  • Final Exam: It can follow the classroom work, but finishing it is better as there are some aspects that you might fully remember only when you have tried them out. It is a very easy multiple choice test and once you have completed all other stages, it is time for a photograph and now you can call yourself a qualified scuba diver.
