Positano is one of the great finds of the Amalfi Coast in Italy which is well-known with jet-setters and newly-weds on their honeymoon as well. It is amazingly wonderful because of one unique feature- it is generally designed into the cliffs of Southern Italy. From the top of the street, it meanders down to the Mediterranean sea below.

  1. Many of the resorts - particularly the ones greater up in the hills - have million-dollar opinions of the water and the city itself. This is another function that creates so well-known Positano. There is nothing more loving than experiencing morning meal out on your personal terrace with views of the sea below.
  2. Positano began out as a regional fishing town and is still not as commercialized as other cities along the Amalfi Coast like Amalfi and Sorrento. Also, it does not get a number of vacation visitors that these cities get. It can get very active, especially on holidays.
  3. The town itself has a one-way road that winds down and then up through the town. There are also stairways designed into the cliffs that take you in between the homes or resorts up the hill.
  4. There is a shopping place in the main town section that gradually becomes a pedestrian-only place, scenery, full of unique stores, bars and even a few resorts which are not visible. This place progressively winds down towards the seaside place.
  5. Down by the water, there are several community seaside places and a few personal fee-based seashores as well where you can sit and dip up the sun. There is also an excellent boardwalk where you can shop and get an ice cold cappuccino and people-watch.
  6. From the seaside place, you can also seek the services of private boats to take you along the Amalfi coast. Or you can take a variety of ferries to other locations like the Islands of Capri or Ischia and the cities of the Amalfi Coast like Sorrento or Amalfi.
  7. Because of its dimension the city requires a bit of preparing to get to. Naples International is the closest airport. You can either take a bus from there to Sorrento and capture another bus to Positano.
  8. You could also get a private car or a taxi to drive you straight from Naples international airport to your resort in Positano. The drive is about an hour and 15 minutes and you can find a wide range of car or taxi services online.
  9. Another choice is to ask your resort for arranging transport for you as they can quickly set you up with a car support and they usually get a lower price because of their connections.
  10. You can get a personal car support to Positano from Rome as well - although it will take more time approximately 3 to 4 hours and price more.

11. While many individuals use Positano as a platform to discover the Amalfi Coast, there are also a lot of Interesting things to do in Positano itself so you never have to leave. Many resorts offer food preparation sessions and bottles of wine flavored. You can also take a boat to the Emerald Grotto or visit the local art gallery.
