Himachal Pradesh is a paradise for mountain lovers. The lofty mountains and the vast green landscape are its main charm. Most of the Indian places are wrapped in mythological tale or folklore, so does Chamba. Chamba is a fabulous hill station of Himachal Pradesh and it is situated on the banks of River Ravi. The town adopted its name from a princess, however, Chamba is full of natural allure and fine temples. A good place to enjoy with family and friend. The town is located at an altitude of 996 metres above the sea level and offers a spectacular view of the surroundings. Chamba is a small town but beholds a rich cultural history. The town was founded in 10th century and Khasas, Audumbaras, Guptas, Thakurs and Ranas all has ruled over this region. It is surrounded by Dhuladhar and Zanskar range and bordered with Jammu and Kashmir. It is a booming tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh. Chamba hotels are situated at prime locations. Pathankot serves as both the nearest airport and railway station from Chamba. From New Delhi, it takes only 1 hour 40 mins to travel by flights. You have to avail taxi or buses to reach Chamba. Chamba bus stand is just 3 km from the town. Inter-state bus connects the whole state. And thus, it is not a problem to reach this hill station.
The wonderful hill station with the Ravi River flowing through the town looks wonderful. Chamba to Dalhousie is about 42 km away. Dalhousie is also a popular hill station of Himachal Pradesh.

Chandi Palace: The Palace was built by Raja Umed Singh as his residence. It is a good example of the British colonial buildings. Nestled in the green hill, the Palace is an important part of Chamba sightseeing.
The Bhuri Singh museum- the museum was constructed in the year 1904 and now it preserve the artefacts, paintings, musical instruments, etc of the past. This museum is one of the best places to encounter the history and culture of Chamba.
Laxmi Narayan Temple: This temple was built by Raja Umed Singh and unlike other temples in Chamba, it is the only wooden temple in the whole town.
Rang Mahal: is the palace which is again built by Raja Umed Singh. The wonderful mix of Mughal and the British architecture makes it a beautiful piece of art. The palace is decorated with hill style paintings which depict the life of Krishna.
Brajeshwar Temple: located in the north-east of Laxmi Narayan Temple, Brajeshwar temple is built in the shikhara-style. The 1000-year-old Brajeshwar temple is a very famous temple of the region.
Chamba can be visited throughout the year. However, extreme cold days should be avoided. For luxury lover, there are not much 5 star hotels in Chamba. But all the hotels are well-equipped with modern amenities and they will take care both your fooding and lodging.
