He/she then reshapes the cornea using a laser or a microkeratome, which will in turn correct the focusing problems in the patient’s eye.
To explain this surgery in simple words, one can say that a laser is used to alter the cornea of the eye. This alteration will completely restore perfect vision in most patients.

The Lasik surgery usually take only a few minutes, but you have to prepare for it before a week itself. The eye is first cleaned and then only the surgery is performed. Once the surgery is done, you cannot open your eyes immediately. Although you can go home after a few hours of observation, you cannot open your eyes immediately. After the Lasik eye surgery, one has to rest his/her eyes for a minimum of one month. The recovery period for the Lasik eye surgery varies from one month to 3 months depending on your eye and the surgeon.
