Things that leave a mark on our memory are designs and colors that are unique, attractive and catchy. This is the sole reason why companies have adopted to attach a design logo with its name. It is true that a company’s reputation is based on its quality of service but there are many other factors that help bring up the business. A new company when launched with a boom is likely to get a quick jump start because of all the hype created. Amongst all the publicity and advertisement tactics, a neat and catchy logo becomes a symbol of recognition.

If we take a look around quite a few brands now don’t need to print their name everywhere, their logo is alone enough to represent their company. A simple design logo may not mean so much to a common man, but in reality logos speak up the company’s motive, perspective, their aim, their plan for the future and the reputation of the company. To create a simple yet effective logo there are 3 key points to keep in mind.

  • Understand your brand.

Before you sit down to design a logo it is important to understand the company you are working for. The purpose the company was made for, the type of service or product they are offering, the consumer age group they aim for, geographical location, religious and cultural beliefs and the ongoing trends and fashion that’s being followed. Meet up with the related personal and question him about the company and what they are looking for in their logo. Preferably make a questionnaire based on questions about the company and the owner to make your work easier each time.

  • Don’t think too fancy

Complicated and loud design seems attractive but they aren’t the best idea for Logo Design. An appropriate use of colors in your logo will speak a thousand words.Colors have their own language and they relate to feeling and emotions. But a design should not completely be dependent on color as the design could be required to be used in black and white The design should explain itself to a common man. Simple but arty design which symbolize and represent the company’s motto work best. Think from the consumer perspective, how and what will come to their mind when they see a particular design, does it relate to the company’s name or the product or the service the company provides? By all means a logo design should be relevant and precise with the impression it means to make.

  • Versatility and time-line

A logo will be used on different mediums and sizes. Papers, brochure, buildings, clothes, accessories, bags, caps and the product itself. The logo design has to be flexible in terms of size and color. On top of a building it will be stretched up to a few 100 feet and when printed on a pen will be minimized to a quarter of an inch. The trick is to make it seem visible and pleasing in all sizes. Also a company that is successful will be there in the long run and so will the logo. When designing the logo it should be taken into consideration that it doesn’t lose its appeal with time. It should stand strong against the test of time.
