It is said that in the water moat surrounding the fort crocodiles were bred, which along with the huge and strong fort walls made the structure impregnable. Gajner Palace - Built by Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji the Gajner Palace is yet another grandiose structure dotting the place. The royal family used it as a place to retreat after hunting. Situated in the thick of forest the palace is a fine example of medieval architecture. It is built of red sandstone and situated on the banks of a tranquil lake. The place is also flocked by migratory as well as residential birds in great numbers, thus, is a perfect spot for bird watching.

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary - While you visit the Gajner Palace, you could use the opportunity to visit the Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a rich sanctuary set on a scenic landscape and home to a rich and diverse flora and fauna. Gajner Palace and Gajner Lake are the two prominent attractions here.
