The beautiful Amalfi coast is one of the most naturally stunning and picturesque places in Italy. Awesome, breath taking and dramatic, this stretch of coastline has attracted people from all over the world for centuries. If you are searching for an Italian holiday, why not consider staying in one of the villas in Amalfi and explore this wonderful region in your own time?

There are some excellent travel companies offering villas in Amalfi, carefully chosen according to their rental suitability, their convenient location and their quality of accommodation. Many come with a swimming pool, either private or shared, and there is always an outside area where you can relax and enjoy some al fresco nibbles and a glass of Italian wine. When you book one of the villas in Amalfi, rest assured that you are booking a quality holiday. The properties are managed by an Italian representative and there is always someone at the end of the phone should you need anything. The properties available vary in size, so no matter if you are coming with a large group of family or friends or if you are looking for an intimate romantic getaway, there will be one perfect for you.

Relaxing On the Coast

This stretch of coastline is ideal for those who enjoy exploring on foot. There are well marked walking paths taking you through charming hilltop towns and out of the main tourist areas. The views from the top of the cliff paths are nothing short of spectacular, and looking down onto the winding road you get a real idea of the dramatic nature of the coast. Vines, lemon trees and olive groves line the terraces as far as the eye can see and, despite the sheer steepness of the cliffs, every available space is used to grow some kind of fruit or vegetable. The flowers are simply stunning and the colours that change throughout the seasons are beautiful at anytime of the year.

Explore the Town

The town itself is a treasure and, although it has become a mainstay on the tourist trail, it retains much of its delightful ambiance and local flavour. There is a lively buzz and it is a great place to enjoy your morning cappuccino or indulge in one of the delicious ice creams so synonymous with an Italian sunny afternoon. Wander the cobbled pathways and head up into the winding back streets and you will see a side that many miss. A visit to the working paper mill is always popular and gives a good insight into the industry that put this tiny town on the map centuries ago.

Positano is one of the most famous towns in the area and is a pretty place to spend an afternoon. Frequented by the well heeled and dotted with expensive boutiques, this town is symbolic of the affluence this region has attracted. Close by is Ravello, with its magnificent Villa Ruffolo and stunning views of the coastline over to the prestigious island of Capri. The town itself is quaint and characterful with stunning bougainvillea climbing up ancient walls, lovely churches opening their doors to the public and some of the most delightful cafes and pastry shops you will encounter anywhere.
