If you are a tea connoisseur you must have definitely heard of the place Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a very small hill station town located in the northeastern region of India living in close quarters with Nepal and Tibet. This small hill station town has achieved the status of a household name due to its natural beauty making it a prime holiday destination and for its tea plantations and production.

Darjeeling tea is considered as one of the best in the world and a huge chunk of the economy depends on the profits yielded from the tea production. Also a place with picturesque beauty, this place attract a large number of tourists every year.

Darjeeling is mostly approached to by road. The nearest train station is the NJP (New Jalpaiguri) town railway station where just outside the station you will find passenger jeeps (sumos) going to places like Darjeeling, Gangtok and a number of nearby towns and hill stations. The drive to Darjeeling is picturesque as you approach this small hill station town as you can start seeing the vast spread of lush greens of the tea plantations from afar. Once the scenery starts it does not end until you reach the town of darjeeling. The streets are busy with people walking around in warm clothes since it is cold throughout the year. The tea plantation is sight not only for the sore eyes but is also a wonderful delight if you can actually visit one of the plantations and witness the tea cultivations and also visit a tea factory to see the production of tea first hand.
