Hydraulic Elevator and an Elaboration on its Functioning
Posted: Dec 03, 2015
The elevation is however controlled with the help of hydraulic cylinders activated by fluid while the retraction is controlled by a slow release of that fluid back in the sump.
Hydraulic Elevator : a type of hydraulic scissor lift
The hydraulic elevator is an important hydraulic scissor lift type. The elevators are powered by a piston that travels inside a cylinder and an electric motor pumps hydraulic oil into the cylinder to move the piston. The piston then smoothly lifts the elevator cab. The electrical valves control the release of oil for a gentle descent.
Hydraulic elevators are used extensively in buildings which are as high as five or six stories. The elevators can operate at a speed of 61 meters (200 ft) per minute and does not use any large overhead hoisting machinery.
Essem Engineers, a premium hydraulic elevator manufacturer, manufactures a complete range of elevator options designed to meet the vertical transportation requirements of every design and type. Essem gives a lot of significance to quality and expertise and hence manufactures products that ensure a dependable performance and a smooth installation. Also they have very accomodative inventory supply systems that streamlines their manufacturing procedures.
Types of Hydraulic Elevator
There are three types of hydraulic elevator. They are the holed hydraulic, the holeless hydraulic and the roped hydraulic configuration.
To elaborate on the types:
The holed hydraulic systems have an elevator car that is mounted on a piston that travels inside a cylinder. The cylinder then extends into the ground to a depth equal to the height the elevator will rise. As the hydraulic fluid is pumped into the cylinder through a valve, the car rises. As the fluid returs to the reservoir, the car descends.
The holeless hydraulic systems consists of pistons mounted inside the hoistway to raise and lower the car. This is mostly a solution for buildings that are built in bedrock, a high water table or unstable soil conditions that make digging a hole for conventional hydraulic elevator impossible.
The roped hydraulic elevator extends the rise of the holeless elevator to 18 meters(60 ft), without the need of a belowground cylinder.
Focusing on the benefits of the hydraulic elevator, they are usually cheaper than traction units and they do not require reinforcement, the cylinder that lifts the elevator cab is supported by the ground underneath.
Essem Engineers: a leading hydraulic scissor lifts manufacturer
To elaborate more on scissor lifts, the loading ability of a scissor lift can be increased. This is done by replacing the elements of the lift like the hydraulic motor with larger and more powerful components. Other than increasing the loading capability, the engineer must ensure that safe operating conditions is given due importance.
Essem Enginners is among the top few manufacturers of hydraulic scissor lifts in India. They have created an excellent position in this domain with their best quality product range.
Have you been trying to get your hands on tandem lifts? Well, we at Essem Engineers, are one of the top tandem lifts manufacturers and can assure you of top quality products. So what are you waiting for?
