Ask most people to describe the Caribbean during the daytime and they’ll tell you about lush, tropical rainforests filled with exotic flora and fauna, spectacular untouched waterfalls, pure blue ocean waters teeming with marine life, and locals living simple uncomplicated lives celebrating a culture that is uniquely theirs. Ask romantic couples and they’ll wax poetic about the crystal clear infinity pools, luxurious spas, the gourmet cuisine, and the sheer indulgence of its opulent hotels, such as the Cap Maison St Lucia. Still others will enthuse about its wealth of exciting adventures the islands offer, including diving, zip-lining, paragliding, windsurfing, even sailboat and yacht racing.

Ask anyone to describe the Caribbean during the evening, however, and you’re bound to get the same answer every time: party time!

A Party for Everyone

It’s no wonder the Caribbean is as renowned for its high-energy parties and celebrations as its lush natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Even from your base at Cap Maison St Lucia, known for its serene and private facilities perfect for honeymoons and romantic holidays, it's impossible to resist the lure of the celebrations and party atmosphere of the Caribbean. Fortunately, leaving your love nest to party at another island is a breeze due to the many boats readily available for charter.

Holidaymakers escaping from the harsh winter to the warm tropical sun of the Caribbean are especially lucky as the islands are teeming with festivals, both traditional and modern, at the end of the year, including Christmas and New Year celebrations. Below are just two of the most popular parties you shouldn’t miss, and they’re both easily reached from Cap Maison St Lucia.

Grenada's Carriacou Parang Festival

If you’re a fan of music, head for the Carriacou Parang Festival held in Grenada in mid-December and you’re in for a once-in-a lifetime treat. For three days, local and regional bands compete with one another for honour and glory, showcasing the island’s traditional string and percussion-driven music. Because much of the music is traditional, watch out for colourful and bawdy lyrics mixed in with the Christmas carols. It's a fun way to get in the mood for some romance when you return to the luxury of the Cap Maison St Lucia.

The National Day Celebration

Nobody could blame you for never wanting to leave the gorgeous Cap Maison St Lucia, but, fortunately, you don’t have to travel far to participate in the National Day celebrations on this lovely island. Parties, parades, and a multitude of mini festivals make up this extended celebration, including a market festival, a music festival, a sports festival, and one feast after another. The official national day falls on December 13, but with the islanders’ love of celebrations you’ll be partying well into the New Year!
