Finding healthy recipes is one of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy searching for different food combinations, trying new recipes, and especially finding that delicious combination that becomes a common place meal in the home. Part of finding healthy food recipes is knowing how to cook them.

There are many ways to cook food but making them healthy may require a few modifications in the recipe. For example, if a recipe calls for oil or frying, that may not be a healthy option for me. I try to steam vegetables with fresh herbs and spices for a delicious and healthy side dish option. Another healthy food choice is roasting meat in the oven rather than browning in a pan. Lean meats like chicken and fish are a definite must if the recipe is going to be considered healthy. Sometimes I find recipes that call for numerous different steps. I need three mixing bowls, four pots or pans, and tons of cutting, chopping and stirring instruments. This is where cooking new healthy food recipes can be daunting. I hate the cleanup.

To avoid all of the time consuming cleanup I purchased a small kitchen appliance that cooks everything in one pot. My one pot multi-cooker makes meat and vegetables all at once. It cooks the food evenly and without burning. I can add rice or potatoes, chicken or fish, and any vegetable that I like. I set the temperature and walk away. The kitchen is still clean and soon my food will be ready. The one pot multi-cooker has allowed me to spend more time on my hobby of finding new healthy food recipes. Once I find the new recipes I can cook them in my cooker without spending hours in the kitchen.

In my search for healthy food recipes that work in my new multi-cooker I have found an amazing chicken and rice dish that has canned tomatoes, fresh basil and salt and pepper. Who knew something so simple could be delicious and healthy? If I’m having guests over and I need a few more servings of meat I usually try to find a lean roast either pork or beef, add potatoes, carrots, onions, and rosemary. At the end I’ll add salt and pepper to taste and I instantly have an amazing meal to serve my guests. The best part is that I don’t have to spend a long time cleaning the kitchen. I simply rinse the dinner dishes, put them in the dishwasher, and I’m sitting down visiting with an after dinner coffee.

I love spending time searching for healthy food recipes. I especially love cooking those healthy recipes in my new multi-cooker. Not having the clean-up makes cooking more pleasant. Being able to prepare and cook healthy recipes is good for my well-being and satisfying to my stomach and my palate. Whether I’m in the mood for beef, seafood, chicken, or vegetarian I know that I can find a healthy food recipe that works perfectly in my new multi-cooker.
