Bali, the cultural city of Indonesia has been a great attraction for tourists since many, many years. It is famous not just for its natural wonders, but also for the uniqueness of Balinese culture. In fact, it is the tradition and lifestyle of Bali that has contributed to the influx of tourism in the country.
Here’s a list of some of the must visit places that are the reason behind Bali’s recognition.
Uluwatu Temple – Pura Luhur: The sea temple perched on top on a limestone cliff 250 feet above the waters of the Indian Ocean is an architectural wonder by all means. Designed in black coral rock, with a cliff top setting, the temple is a majestic site coupled with outstanding views of the vast blue ocean. The sight of the setting sun over the temple is indeed something to behold.
Pura Tanah Lot: Yet another spectacular example of architectural brilliance and natural wonder is Pura Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot is an interesting rock formation with the temple resting on top of it and the roaring waves of the ocean hitting its bottom. This well-known pilgrimage site has a mystic charm that is impossible to ignore.
Pura Ulun Danu Bratan: This temple by the lake in Bali is also known as the floating temple. While other famous temples of Bali lie perched on cliff rocks, this temple is located on the shores of Lake Bratan. The lake is considered auspicious as it is an important source of water for the farmlands and rice fields. This is the reason why the locals worship the goddess of the lake, Dewi Dana at Pura Ulun Danu Bratan.
The higher altitude offers cool temperatures and a walk around the temple is quite an experience in itself.
Ubud: This Indonesian town in the uplands of Bali is the ideal place to soak up the culture and tradition of the nation. Dotted with famous Hindu temples and rock-cut shrines, Ubud is the hub of Bali which brings forth the best of nature, culture, people, gardens and parks. This town of contrasts blends the modern and the ancient in a way that lures tourists from all parts of the world.
The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Agung Rai Museum of Art, Ubud Palace, Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, Gunung Lebah Temple and Don Antonio Blanco Museum are some of the most important places of interest of this charming little town. Do you need any further reason to book your Cheap Bali Holidays.
