The Aventador is the flagship vehicle of the super car specialist the Lamborghini S.p.A, managed by the German Volkswagen group. The car unveiled during the 2011 Geneva motor show, has been launched in India same year and the Aventador Roadster variant later in 2013.

Variants and prices

The Lamborghini Aventador comes in two variants, both in petrol. The Aventador LP 700-4 in the coupe form is priced Rupees 3.69 crore. The Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, a convertible is priced Rupees 4.78 crore.

Rivals

The Aventador is one of the costlier sports cars. In the luxury car segment of the Indian market, the Aventador has to compete with the likes of the Audi R8, the Ferrari 458, the Aston Martin Vanquish and the Aston M V12 Vintage in the Indian market. The R8 in petrol is cheaper and has 5 variants priced Rupees 1.71 to 2.9 crore. The costlier Ferrari 458 is priced Rupees 4.8 crore for its single petrol variant. The Aston Martin Vintage is cheaper at Rupees 3.5 croreand the Vanquish is priced Rupees 3.85 crore. The BMW i8 is priced Rupees 2.39 crore and the Bugatti Veyron is priced Rupees 12.0 crore.

Features

The Aventador with a low profile design has a streamlined body with thin angularheadlights, scissor shaped doors and roofline falling smoothly to the front and the rear. The cockpit-inspired cabin of the Aventador has toggle switches for various controls. The cabin features include a TFT instrument cluster, 6 air bags, ABS, EBD, ESP, BA, Hill hold control, cruise control, leather seats, electric ORVMs and a music system with Bluetooth connectivity and GPS.

Engines

The Aventador is a performance car. The V12 naturally aspirated engine having 6498 cc volume, 700 bhp power and 690 NM torque gives mileages of 6.3 kmpl. It takes 2.9 seconds to shift from 0-100 kmph with a maximum speed of 350 kmph.

Ride quality

A spacious cabin, a good suspension system and good steering controls make the ride comfortable. The suspensions are horizontal mono-tube damper with push rod system at the front and the rear. The tyres are R19 type at the front and R20 type at the rear with disc type brakes.
