As talked about SAT earlier, this exam is essential for students wishing to go in for higher studies abroad as most of the top class universities require the applicants to send in their SAT scores attached with their applications.

To decide up on a SAT Test Pattern a student must go through the last ten years of SAT question. Besides this a few pointers would be towards the essay which a student has to write to qualify his or her SAT exam. To score well in a SAT test a student must know that the essay written by the student is read by two examiners and then they score them out of 1 to 6.

1 on a score card means extremely poor and 6 of course means excellent. Then the scores are added up for the two and the final score would range somewhere between 2 and twelve. The student taking up SAT exam must know that there is a trend of negative scoring for this exam. For every right answer, a student can score one point per answer but a negative marking of ¼ points can be made for every wrong answer. If the student leaves an answer undone then he or she neither loses nor gains marks, and it is highly advisable that the students better leave the question unanswered if they are absolutely not sure of the right answer.

Then the scoring is done in a raw and median score pattern. So if a student scores anything between two hundred points to eight hundred points which is the range for raw score, the median score would be different and increase or decrease according to it. This SAT test has three major sections. Critical reading, maths and writing. The raw scores are calculated for individual sections and then the total raw score’s median is taken out to find the final score.

SAT as a test was originally known s the scholastic aptitude test. According to the scoring test pattern of a SAT exam, a student taking it up can score anywhere between six hundred to two thousand and four hundred points. These are decided by the individual scores of the three sections, as mentioned above which is the eight hundred are scoring sections each.

But students are advised that they take counselling and guidance from overseas education consultants as they have an accumulated knowledge of years in getting students to qualify such exams.
