For those looking for luxury hotels, Caribbean islands will spoil for choice. Barbados, for instance, boasts of child-friendly facilities with something for everyone, especially at the beach villages. Caribbean islands have a wonderful history, and this attraction is built on an 18th century sugar plantation complete with a historic sugar mill. It is a great starting point for family adventures – there are even swim-up movies and junior chef classes. Explore Harrison’s Cave nearby, which is a limestone cavern complete with stalactites, subterranean streams, and a 40-foot underground waterfall.

There are child-safe, white sand beaches with waters gentle enough for even the most timid swimmer, and patrolled by lifeguards, and Pirate’s Island Waterpark with two giant waterslides. Because the region is known as an excellent scuba diving destination, basic underwater skills lessons for children also available. Plenty of fun and excitement await, on the beach or off. There is a children’s camp, where they learn to speak Papiamento (meaning parents can have some time off to enjoy themselves), or you can all take trips together to Arikok National Park, Eagle Beach, the Atlantis Submarines expedition and more.
