A very crucial time of one’s life is the duration of pregnancy. It is the time when the body poses certain demands to the mind. It requires extra nourishment, it needs extra care and it desires extra exercise. There is a notion that one should be at rest during the pregnancy period. However, the best approach is to have a balance between rest and exercise. There are a few forms of exercises which are especially beneficial to both the expecting mother and the unborn child. Physicians always advise expecting mothers to take up one of those exercises.

A pregnant woman can take up aerobics classes as a workout plan. Aerobics not only keeps the body fit, but also prevents the accumulation of fat, which helps the woman to remain in the perfect shape even after the delivery of the child. One can also take up Yoga classes as an alternative to aerobics classes. Yoga is a versatile form of exercise which not only helps the practitioner physically, but also contributes in soothing the mind. There are lots of hormonal changes in the body during the pregnancy period, which might make one cranky. Yoga helps in calming the mind and maintaining cheerfulness. Being cheerful is undoubtedly very important during pregnancy.

Hatha Yoga is a combination of aerobics and meditation. The meditation associated with Yoga helps in maintaining blood pressure of the body. Besides, it also helps in solving issues of metabolism. In fact, there are certain postures of Yoga, which when practised under supervision, can work wonders for the child to be born. These postures are grouped under the name of prenatal yoga. Prenatal yoga prepares the pregnant woman for a safe, secured and easy labour. It also helps the unborn child to absorb more nourishment provided by the mother’s body.

There are several gymnasiums and fitness centres which offer classes of prenatal yoga in Dubai. These gymnasiums have trained professionals who understand the specific needs of the women and suggest customized exercises. This is the reason why more and more number of expecting mothers are taking up Yoga classes in Dubai. The gymnasiums and fitness centres too, are doing an excellent job through continuous enhancement of their service.

One thing one should always remember is that although tutorials for Yoga are easily available on the internet, one should never try Yoga at home during pregnancy. Prenatal Yoga can be risky too if done without any supervision. It is always better not to take any risk and go for the membership of any reputed gym. In the gyms, a pregnant woman would also get the opportunity of socializing with other pregnant ladies, and there might really some good interactions, which would help one to take better care of oneself.
