What Is Robotic Process Automation

Posted: Feb 17, 2016
Automation technology is taking the world by storm, and for good reason. It involves delegating tasks to machines and software that have been typically done by humans. What mechanisation did to manual labour, automation aims to do for intellectual labour.
Robotic process automation involves using computer software programs call ‘bots’ that can be designed to perform useful work. These little programs involve extensive work and can be put in to two major categories: ‘dumb’ bots can be designed to perform mundane and repetitive tasks, for e.g. data entry and scheduling; work that does not require much decision making and is subject to pretty straightforward rules and criteria. On the other hand, ‘smart’ bots are also there which can often perform work that has involved ‘intelligence’. These programs can actually learn from observing past inputs and their outcomes and over time, tailor their work to more suit a desired goal or outcome. They are the manifestation of various cutting edge technologies and breakthroughs in the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence, data mining and neural networks.
Robotic process automation is not some technology dreamed up by science fiction writers; it is the here and now. Automation bots have been developed that can write and compose music, manage traffic, even write software programs themselves. Widespread adoption of such robotic process automation can indeed render many human based services obsolete.
Businesses are just beginning to understand the scope and utility of robotic process automation technology. Replacing human workers by software programs saves a large amount of costs and increases efficiency and productivity. These programs can work continuously and do not need salaries or benefits or life insurance. Also being investigated are the possibilities of automating entire business processes. Traditionally, businesses have always looked towards outsourcing as a means of reduction of costs and availing of quality work and services. But robotic process automation opens up an entirely new avenue that offers all the benefits of outsourcing with none of its disadvantages, viz. inefficiency, communication delays, time issues and integration of services. When products can be developed in house and with minimal cost, it is always a more prudent decision to go for it instead of opting for outsourcing.
For the longest period of time, automation technology was in the domain of academia and educational interest. Now, it has proven to be of commercial value. This is one of the reasons why companies are increasingly choosing to opt for robotic process automation. Adopting such disruptive technology, however, does require some upfront costs (which definitely pay off in the long run) and needs the businesses to modify their existing workflow and organisation to best integrate this new avenue in the overall venture.
With the grossly rising costs of outsourcing work and automation software getting better and better, robotic process automation is now a viable enterprise of immense industrial and commercial value. Most businesses that employ some amount of human talent stand to benefit immensely from the adoption of automation technology, and all because of the benefits that it brings with it.
Bringing the next horizon in efficiency and growth, https://www.rpaimplementation.com/ Robotic Process Automation just might be the miracle technology of the 21st century that sparks a new industrial revolution. While the present manifestation of https://www.rpaimplementation.com/what-we-do.html Robotic Process Automation technology is only a sign of what is to come, the projected benefits are definitely promising. With faster and more efficient and accurate work available at a cheaper cost than has ever been possible, it will really set up a tremendous rate of growth and prosperity.

Hello Vikram, Very cool to see your post come up when I was searching this topic! I am trying connect Ms excel using OLEDB VBO I am getting this error "Internal: Could not execute code stage because exception thrown by code stage: The 'Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.16.0' provider is not registered on the local machine."Blue prism course in USA Provider is not registered on the local machine? Can anyone help me .... Anyways great write up, your efforts are much appreciated. Best Regards, Kevin
Greetings Mate, Thanks a trillion mate! It works like charm, saved a lot of energy & time. Can anyone help me with OLEDB excel filter, I am totally how we can write query for filter and what is provider? Excel File filter Using OLEDB? Please provide any vbo if you guys have for free robotics course las vegasbetter understanding. Appreciate your effort for making such useful blogs and helping the community. Obrigado,
Hi Vikram, Thanks for the tip, appreciate it. Your article definitely helped me to understand the core concepts. I’m most excited about the details your article touch based! I assume it doesn’t come out of the box, it sounds like you are saying we’d need to write in the handlers ourselves blue prism certification dumps vegas. Is there any other articles you would recommend to understand this better? I am not able to delete process. Getting error: "An error occurred while deleting the process: Could not delete the process. This process has been run before and is required for audit" Not able to delete process in BP? Please help. Excellent tutorials - very easy to understand with all the details. I hope you will continue to provide more such tutorials. Many Thanks, Kevin
Hi Buddy, Thank you for update. From now onward I start to use this blog in my training practice. Thank you for explaining each step-in screen shots. I use blogs for my easy reference which were quite useful to get started with. Hi All I have 10 data ITEMS in Blue prism which I then need to transfer to an excel sheet folder so basically, I need the data to go from A1 to J1. Then when I open the folder again or keep the folder open ... the next 10 data items go in to the same folder and start from A2 to J2 and so on repeat A3 to J3 so in theory if I did 20 checks it would continue entering this data on the same excel sheet starting from a1 to j2 repeating and adding data until A20 to J20 any help and info would be a great help. BP data to an excel report? Excellent tutorials - very easy to understand with all the details. I hope you will continue to provide more such tutorials. Thank you, Irene Hynes
Hi Vikram, Thanks for the post. Very good details. Worked like a charm. Good directions. I'm OCRing a PDF and storing the being data in collections. Is it possible for Blue prism to give a pop up (loading bar or anything) on the unused part of the pdf to give the progress of the spying? Example: if the OCR takes 1 min, I want the popup to display the something and as soon as the OCR is done popup should disappear. If not, just some sort of update saying OCRing in progress do not touch the contents and closing the pop up after the OCR is done? POP up? Any help would be appreciated. Excellent tutorials - very easy to understand with all the details. I hope you will continue to provide more such tutorials. Thanks, Martin
