Two or three days may not fully do justice to such a beautiful city, but when your Geneva airport transfers deliver you to your accommodation get ready to experience a host of highlights. Whether you’re travelling alone, with a group, or with the entire family, you must not miss the following spots.

The Lake and its Many Wonders

As one of Europe’s most environmentally sound cities, it has at least 20 expansive parks, most of which are located in the city centre. Their central location means you’re never too far from any of the modern amenities, while still being able to enjoy a bit of an escape when you feel the need.

As you pass by on your Geneva airport transfers you may already have spotted the main attraction of the city - the world-famous lake with its countless recreational offerings - you can even see the gigantic water spout, called the Jet d’Eau, as your plane lands. The Jet d’Eau spouts water for up to 140 metres into the air and serves as a constant symbol of the city’s leadership position as far as hydraulic technology is concerned. But that’s only for starters. Around the lake there are numerous cafes, parks, and street markets that can take up an entire day to explore. If you must zero in on a single destination, choose Bains des Paquis and experience for yourself why people have loved its saunas and bathing areas for the past several decades.

A Day for the Children

If you’re visiting with family, you don’t need to worry about the children getting bored. The city has several attractions for the younger members of the group—in fact, you may even get that distinct feeling it is trying hard to be extra friendly to them! After arriving on the Geneva airport transfers, the sight of a theme park can be exhilarating for the weary young folk of the family. For starters, there’s the tropical themed Aquaparc, which is a fun-filled water park that also offers other activities such as horseback riding or bowling. If you happen to visit during the colder months, there are also indoor playgrounds for the kids, such as Yatouland with its slides and bouncy castles and even a mini 4X4 circuit. You can also visit Happyland, Switzerland’s largest amusement park, and Forestland with its endless adventures.

The Old Town

Of course, no visit to the city is complete without spending a day wandering through the city’s Old Town. Like many places in Europe, the Old Town has retained its rich ancient character whose provenance goes all the way back to the Roman times. There are lovely sloping cobblestoned roads and alleys lined with cafes and historical landmarks, and also the oldest public square in the city, the Bourg-de-Four, which is always bustling with activity. You can pay a visit to the historical Hotel De Ville, which has witnessed many a great turning points in history, and also the Treille Promenade, located in the southern area of Old Town, with breath-taking views of the city and interesting artefacts.
