Getting certificate attestation in UAE and tips to get decor permit approval in Dubai

The thumb rule for doing business in UAE comes with a difference and style! While certificate attestation becomes mandatory for many reasons, there are many companies extending their helping hand to people looking for attestation of their certificates.

The United Arab Emirates basically needs only those documents which are issued in the UK, and these need to be attested before they are used in the UAE. This is a two-step process and it requires the addition of an Apostle Stamp by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. Thereafter, subsequent consular attestation needs to be done by the UAE Embassy in London.

Birth certificates, Marriage certificates, death certificates, etc., are a few common documents requiring attestation. The other certificates demanding attestation are educational qualification documents as well as the company registration documents.

Attestation is also referred to as legalization here to avoid any kind of doubt.

Different rules have been fixed up for different nations to get certificates attested. While Certificate Attestation from Kuwait Consulate, Dubai needs documents such as an original certificate (after attestation from UAE Foreign Affairs), it also needs a minimum time frame of 2 days.

Several job designations in the UAE require attested educational certificates. Besides, many managerial and skilled level designations require degree certificate in the relevant faculty.

Indian Education Certificates also need to be attested from different departments. It could be done from anywhere such as Home Department under the State Government or Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, UAE Embassy (New Delhi) or UAE Consulate (Mumbai), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UAE. (This can also be practiced from any of the three Foreign Affairs offices situated in Abu Dhabi, Dubai & Sharjah)

Documents required for attestation are original certificate, a passport copy and a photograph. The different kind of non-educational certificates for attestation include Marriage Certificate, Experience Certificate, Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Power of Attorney, Affidavit…etc.

These certificates can be attested by either Notary Public or Home Department of the concerned State or the UAE Embassy (New Delhi) or UAE Consulate (Mumbai). It can also be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UAE. (This can be done from any of the three Foreign Affairs offices situated in Abu Dhabi, Dubai & Sharjah)

The required documents include original Certificate, a Passport copy and a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) that can be attested from Notary Public, Home Department, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) & UAE Embassy in Delhi.

As there are different rules of attestation in UAE, similarly there are different rules for decor permit approval in Dubai. There are a few strict rules which need to be followed by one and all. There should be an approved site plan which should be original and which should have been issued less than two months prior to application. There should be a licence letter issued by the applicant and signed by the owner
