Any effort should be in the right direction. There are some myths associated with car maintenance and repair that cause wastage of money and time. We here provide you with a look into these myths so that you can ensure that your car remains secure, safe and efficient and you get a rescue from unnecessary expenditures.

Myth 1#. The engine oil has to be changed for every 3000 miles

Never go for the self-service recommendations and pleas of the quick lubricant shops and the oil companies, and stick to the advice given to you in the car owner manual. A vehicle can easily travel around 7,500 miles before the engine oil change is required. Change of oil is a cause of money wastage, but would not harm your car's engine. You can change the oil at 3,000 miles as well, if you do a lot of trailer towing, "stop and go" driving or travel through the mountainous/dusty areas.

Myth 2#. The coolant needs to be removed at every single oil change

According to almost all of the car owner manuals, the coolant of the car must be changed after 60,000 miles or after 5 years. Sometimes a leak can cause the lowering of the coolant reservoir.

Myth 3#. The tyres should be inflated to a pressure limit that is shown on the sidewall of the tyres

The tyre's sidewall shows the maximum pressure that the tyre can hold in a secure manner. The more appropriative pressure (manufacturer recommended) which suits the handling, braking, ride comfort and gas mileage of the car are given on the driver side of the door, on the door of the fuel-filler and with the glove-box.

Myth 4#. Premium fuel is better than the regular fuel

This is again a recurrent kind of costly mistake. The 87 octane grade fuel is sufficient for the car's smooth performance, and any premium fuel will not increase the performance of the car, but will definitely be more expensive. The "high compression" and hot running engines use the high-octane fuels as they do not cause the problems related to engine's "pre-ignition".

Myth 5#. The car must be warmed up for long time periods (several of minutes) before it is driven

The modern engine can get warmed up faster if it is driven just after its start. As it warms up, its efficiency and performance improves. The one thing to be noted here is that the car engine should not revved up during the very first miles of the drive.

Myth 6#. The cars can be cleaned by using the laundry and dishwashing detergents and soaps

These detergents remove all the wax finish of the car and should never be used for cleaning any kind of automobile. Just pay a few more bucks and only use the "car wash" liquid, which preserves the shine of the car and is soft on its paint and wax. Car interior cleaning in Bangalore by the service centers is also done by using specific car cleaners and conditioners.

Myth 7#. The battery of the car gets recharged fully only after a few minutes of car drive

The music system, heated seats and the other car accessories draw a lot of electricity, and there is very less left for the alternator to recharge the battery itself. You should check the battery strength indication, and use the battery and appliances in the right way, so that the battery does not drain and cause your discomfort, in an untimely manner.

Car services in Bangalore heed and cater to all kinds of car maintenance and repair requirements, and are a suitable option for car repair, at most affordable prices.
