If you are just like many other people, then you probably do not have ample time left at the end of your day-to-day schedule. But if you have something extra to do especially at the end of the year (yes, Christmas is just around the corner), then you need to make time to create a feeling of warmth and festivity inside your home. http://www.mccreerys.com/LivingRoom.inc

Here are some ideas that you can quickly apply as they are simple ways to add a joyful look in your home this season. And the great news is that you will still have enough time left to really enjoy Christmas when it comes! http://www.houzz.com/holiday-interior-design

Bows Everywhere...

What is Christmas without generous ribbons on your plants, candlesticks, garlands, basket handles, wreaths, drapery tie-backs, doorknobs and railings? Bows evoke a feeling of festivity without you even trying too hard. Choose ribbons with Christmas patterns and colors so that you can coordinate them with your current theme.

Remember that the ribbons need not be green or red. You can also choose florals, plaids, silver, or anything that has a metallic color. You may also buy ribbons which you can reuse every year, you get to save money in the long run as you also end up with a great ribbon collection.

Make Use of Holiday Tableware

Have you taken a good look at your cupboards lately? Take any of the dishes that look festive then use them throughout the holiday season. If you do not have such dishware, then go to discount stores and find unique designs that you use. Begin collecting a set of holiday tableware such as color-coordinated dinner plates, salad plates and mugs. If you are more adventurous, pick a different pattern and setting every year and then mix and match the pieces on the next, few Christmases.

Bring Out Those Candles and Wreaths

The dining table must not only be adorned with a festive-looking table cloth or table runner but must also be arranged with more candlelight. The meals that you will serve will surely be more special as you share them over candle-lit dinners.

Just like ribbons, Christmas is also incomplete without a holiday wreath hanging on the door. The front door must have one then explore by adorning your back door as well as other doors inside your home. Do not forget that place over the mantle and also on all of the front windows.

For a more natural look, use grapevines, pine, berries, pinecones, raffia, and bows.

Splash Your Home with Colors

This all begins with the set up of the perfect Christmas tree. Drape the railings with garlands. Use ornaments and ribbons throughout your home so that the brightest colors will dominate the rooms; and with a Christmas CD playing on the background, your guests are sure to love the ambience that you have created.

Keepin’ It Fresh

Why not prepare bowls of holiday cookies or fresh fruits? This bowl or a pretty basket of traditional candy canes can be placed on entry or coffee tables. The guest rooms must also be filled with goodies so that your guests will feel more welcome.

How about some gifts of nature? Pile all the pine cones inside a basket or bowl. Place this arrangement on your bookcase, the kitchen window or the bath sink. Find sprigs of holiday greens then tie them all with bow. This can be used as a beautiful window decor.

Lastly, the most important part of interior design that you must not forget is to bring happiness. This happy feeling will surely create memories. Light the Christmas tree every evening and you will soon discover that you have this warm feeling each time that you do this. Allow your little ones to circle you as you turn on the Christmas lights each night.
