As the campaign for the Democratic Party primaries for the year 2016 gets intensified the focus is obviously on the top candidates in the contest. It is difficult to visualize or predict anyone as sure winner but some of them obviously have great possibilities. Especially the focus is on those candidates who have contested the reigning congressman Charles Rangel from time to time though unsuccessfully in all cases. Some were closer in the contest in comparison to others but the electors ultimately favored Rangel all the times. This year it is different with Rangel stepping down from the contest after four decades and each of the candidates who were close runners have renewed hopes. An example is Clyde Williams 2016 considered a leading contestant though there are others like Keith Wright and Robert Rodriguez.

Clyde Williams:

Clyde Williams 2016 was one of the contestants for the 13th NY district during the year 2012. He was also the Political Director of the Democratic National Committee. Earlier he was also the advisor on domestic policies for former President Bill Clinton. During that time in 2001 he developed the small business initiative in Harlem and in 2005 he became the Vice President at Center for American Progress. He was appointed Political Director of DNC and in 2010 he was considered to be the major support for black voters in the country. In his congressional bid in 2012 he challenged incumbent Charles Rangel for the 13th NY district seat. Clyde Williams 2016 announced his candidature for the same in October 2015 and was endorsed by the former majority leader in Senate Tom Daschle as well as the former Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson.

Keith Wright:

Keith Wright Assemblyman has been endorsed by Bronx Dems for the primaries for the 13th NY District for the 2016 primaries. But even more significant fact is that he is also endorsed and backed by incumbent Charles Rangel who considers that Wright is the right person to succeed him. Harlem Assemblyman Keith Wright is also backed by one of the largest unions in the city of New York, the Service Employees International Union. It has got over seventy thousand building workers as members and the support is substantial for Keith Wright Assemblyman. This is also a major setback for another front runner in the primaries; Adriano Espillat who nearly toppled the reigning Charles Rangel in both primaries held in 2012 and 2014. The union is supporting Wright as they feel that he stands for working men.

Views of Robert Rodriguez Assemblyman:

Though he is not in the contest; the views of Robert Rodriguez Assemblyman cannot be ignored. He is an avid supporter of Adriano Espillat and he feels that the best course for the electors in the 13th NY district is to stand behind Espillat who is more conversant with all their requirements and burning issues. He is well known politician and a veteran in the field and his views holds considerable value.

Among all these stand candidates like Suzan Johnson Cook, Adam Clayton Powel, Martin Chicon, Tony Evans, and Mike Gallagher and each of them braces for the ultimate event hoping for the best.
