You will be glad to know that Wilmington Library Volunteer Training is again held in Wilmington this month. It will be held on Monday, March 28th, 2016. The timings will be from 12:00 am onwards. This is mainly going to be a training workshop for those individuals who are eager to earn volunteer hours at the library. The interested volunteers are requested to fill-up an application form & are generally interviewed by one of the senior-authority’s person. Unfortunately, if there are no suitable volunteer then these application forms are kept on file for around a year.

These kinds of Volunteer Program are basically designed to enhance & expand public service to the community. Volunteer essentially provide support services to paid staff who work on special projects to deliver library materials to the home bound. These volunteers are also expected to act in accordance with library policies & to reveal positive consumer service attitudes to entire library patrons. Nevertheless, if no other mutually appropriate volunteer position exists at the time, the individual will be asked to discontinue service & his/her application will be kept on file for one year, subject to review should a suitable position become available during that particular time. During an event if a volunteer is incapable to perform the duties allocated to her/him & no other suitable positions are available then the volunteer might be removed from his/her services.
