Are you traveling with family or friends for your annual vacation away from the chaos of your fast-paced life? When going on vacation to Hilton Head to take one of the Hilton Head Tours or for other activities, you certainly do not want to ruin it by forgetting essentials such as your toothbrush, towel or your mobile or laptop charger. Badly packed luggage will only ruin your much-needed, enjoyable holiday on Hilton Head Island. Here’s what you can do to avoid this!

Pack Your Bags Ahead of Time

Booking tickets and making hotel reservations is the first part of planning the trip. However, packing up the luggage is equally daunting. You will often be tempted to fill your suitcase with everything that is a part of your wardrobe. However, packing the unnecessary things will only leave you with limited or no space for the other essentials. And, unfortunately, the flights do not allow unlimited baggage.

What’s in the Bag?

Here’s what should essentially form a part of your luggage.

The first thing you must ideally do before packing is make a list of what you WANT. Avoid adding things that you DESIRE. It sounds boring, but a few minutes spent on chalking out the list prove more useful than you can imagine.

  • You never know when your stomach may refuse to accept the new cuisine you eat or you develop that hateful, punishing headache. As your vacation is not going to last forever, a single day waste costs high. So, remember your first aid kid and medicines to avoid succumbing to ailments.
  • There’s always this big dilemma about shoes. Is one pair enough? What if it breaks? Carrying three pairs of shoes are ideal. It’s more about comfort than variety. You can’t do trekking in stilettos and you can’t wear your formals with sports shoes. So, both are equally essential.
  • Unless you are travelling to Antarctica or so, you will easily find a set of cosmetics to fulfill your daily needs everywhere across the globe. However, if you essentially need your favorite sunscreen, then carry quantity that is adequate for the trip. You can throw away the tiny bottles and make room for the additions on your luggage during the holiday.
  • Skip the glass bottles with liquids. The liquids might just spill and spoil all the other things in your bag.
  • You cannot go to the Caribbean Islands with formal wear and no swim suit. Check the weather details one or two days before you leave and pack up accordingly. However, wherever you go, remember to carry that one formal attire, as you never know who you might meet and where you might end up going.
  • Remember the umbrella, as it might rain anytime, even when it is least expected.
  • Check if the hotel supplies towels, toiletries etc. If not, add it to your bags.
  • Check and re-check the essentials like your passport, identity card, driving license if you intend to rent-a-car and your tickets.
  • The luggage you carry will essentially come back. However, there might be additions from your shopping trips. So, leave room for these essentials in your luggage.

Is there anything you think we missed stuffing in our bags for the holiday with Hilton Head Tours?
