Are you thinking of spending your winter break in the European mountains in one of the cosy Alpine ski chalets? La Tania is a fantastic resort as a skiing destination; nestled into the vast Three Valleys Ski Area, it has access to some incredible slopes and a top class lift infrastructure. The resort itself is much smaller than its neighbours, Meribel and Courcheval but this only adds to its appeal.

Ski, Ski, Ski

From any of the many beautiful ski chalets, La Tania’s main lift station is easy to get to. The village is small and very typically Alpine, with wooden chalets and tiny streets that are lined with delicious French bakeries, buzzing cafes and, of course, ski hire shops. Everything you need can be found in the village and there will be plenty of resort information found in the ski chalets. La Tania is an active little village and there is lots going on off the slopes, as well as on. Ski hire and lessons are easy to organise and there is an efficient lift office where you can buy lift passes, find piste maps and get any other information you may require about lift closures, weather forecasts and more.

The Three Valleys

The Three Valleys is a huge skiing area, renowned the world over for its exciting runs, spectacular parks and beautiful scenery. The 600km of pistes are served by 200 modern and well-serviced lifts, and the 300 runs include slopes suitable for all abilities. A gondola or tow lift will take you out of the resort itself and into the rest of the Three Valley area. From the top of the gondola there are some stunning wide tree lined runs that wind back down into the village: choose from the gentle, sweeping green beginner slopes, or challenge yourself on the steeper reds and blues. The blue run is serviced by snow cannons throughout the year, so prime ski conditions are maintained right to the end of the season. There are several other slopes served by snow cannons in the Three Valleys and the area remains open until well into April.

Something for Everyone

This delightful resort is a great place for beginner skiers, with its gentle nursery slopes and a free beginner’s tow lift; but for those wanting a little more off-piste adventure there are plenty of opportunities too. With 28 black runs throughout the Three Valleys and a huge amount of off-piste options, there is a lot to keep the adrenalin junkie busy. Courcheval has some famous couloirs and many believe these to be among the toughest in the world.

If you chose to book with one of the top companies operating in the area and stay in one of the many cosy ski chalets, La Tania becomes even more appealing. With all-inclusive packages including bed, breakfast, afternoon tea and a three course evening meal, you will be well taken care of on your mountain adventure in the Alps.
